I jumped into an corp that had several wardecs after I found an WT in a station.

So I jumped into this corp an camped the gate.
An freighter jumped true the gate and I killed it.

Then I get this mail after several days.

Obelisk Loss

To: Orions Lord,

So, you got the kill and CCP reimbursed me for the ship loss. Nice use of an exploit...corp jumping.

Apparently this mechanic will be fixed soon.

Fly well. Win Win for both of us.

Probably Bullsh*t from the freighter pilot.

CCP isn't known for giving freighters or...anything back to players, if they can site a 'working as intended' mechanic.

It might have to do with the following blog post on Factionwarfare.com: http://www.factionwarfare.com/war-target-showing-neutral/

I do not mean to imply that the OP had anything to do with the kill I posted, I just mean to illustrate that there is another instance of this happening and another report of this being re-imbursed by CCP.

This involves engaging without a session change, which IS an exploit

OP may or may not have done that, can't tell by his ridiculously detail missing account. Either way, not our problem and who gives a **** if the WT did or did not get reimbursed?

The freighter pilot is full of crap.

You have to be docked to leave a corp and therefore are docked when you join a corp.
A session change has to have happened.

People make up stuff like that all the time in an attempt to make you think they are not butthurt.

Just send him a mail back telling him he is full of **** with the obligatory 'Why you mad bro?'

You can also do the opposite and show as a wt while still being neutral.

Some of the stuff you can do in that situation is very funny.

A lot of that code seems very buggy - I've seen some seriously weird stuff.

You do have to be docked when you *apply* to join a corp, but not when you actually join the corp. I'd used this fine distinction a little before I learned of its exploit status.

I had a clever wartarget who'd found a system where he could operate a very long way away from any gate i could enter through. So whenever I landed ongrid he was long gone. My counter-measure, quite effective (except for the exploit bit), was to apply and get accepted for the warring corp beforehand and then only accept the final join offer towards the final phase of my warp to him. He never complained, and we laughed about my desperate measures to catch him, but I later learned that that amounted to being an exploit.

If what you did was anything like this then I'd not be surprised with CCP responding to his complaint.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

So are they going to class dropping corp during a dec as an exploit too?

Bet not.

Joining a corp during a dec....preferably whilst you are within weapons range of your soon-to-be war target......is an ancient and noble tactic.

Especially if its an Orca.........

It's probably bullshit from the freighter pilot. It's his way of "getting back" at you.

As long as you've had a session change via docking/undocking or jumping through a gate, it's fair game.

And since you said you "camped a gate" and caught him, I'm going to assume that you did indeed experience such a session change.
