MJD jump distance help chart

I recently fooled around with Marauders and made me this help chart. The distance to a static target is purely angle dependent. If you understand dscan you should have no problems understanding this chart.

This is supposed to help you better judge the angle needed for a 2 jump MJD move needed to reach a gate in mission/complex which is less than 100km away (warp in -> 1st jump -> bastion and kill rats -> 2nd jump on top of exit gate). Also available in the EvE subreddit.

Or you could use the tactical overview and do the math in your head. This is basic angular geometry.

I'm not sure that there's too many that does that sort of math in real-time while playing...

I just enable the tactical overlay, check the distance, and eyeball the angle I need. 9 times out of 10 I'm usually dead on.

One thing that chart does not take into account is the sig radius bubble of the gate. I have MJD to gates that were 75km away and ended up at 0 distance. Basically the distance in the overview from you to the gate is measured to the edge of the sig bubble of the gate, not to the center of the bubble. So keep that in mind.

As Estella pointed out, jumping to a gate is actually really easy. They have a 10km (15km?) sig radius, which gives you a lot of leeway.

Well when your closer cos you can jump 20 km or more "past" the gate distance and still land at 0 km

If the gate is more than 100km its no help ... though in some rooms you can jump 100km AWAY from the gate and then warp to it :D

Here's an in-depth tutorial to help with determining where you should jump.
