Nintendo says 'No' to gay game characters

"Mr Marini as says that same-sex relationships were "more of an issue for this game because the characters are supposed to be a representation of your real life".

Lol at Nintendo. You can even have same sex couples in "The Sims" and no one fussed about it.

And are they even relevant anymore? I mean ever since mobile has taken over casual gaming who needs anything made by Nintendo.

If they ever make a pokemon for android/apple/windows phones they would make so much money.

Yeah, I've said in the past they just need to drop their console business and focus on mobile games. Such a wasted opportunity that they are not taking advantage of.

Just throwing my thoughts out on the matter.

While I think the whole relationship aspect in games has turned into a annoying gimmick for developers to put in their games, I think Nintendo' views on the world (and the consumer) just shows how far behind they are. They desperately need new blood in upper management, new ways of thinking and a new CEO, preferably a western, like Reggie Fils-Aime who knows how to talk to media, consumers and fans alike.

Also, you'd think that in this day in age, this wouldn't even be an issue anymore. Sigh.

I guess they don't want to "mess up" their perfect game. At the same time it was simply a fan's request, you can hardly expect them to change their game just because some *** wants to marry his buddy.

Either way, this shouldn't even be in the news and it's kind of sad that it is, it shouldn't need to be discussed, like how hard is it to allow the same-sex marriage? Should take like one little tweak to the game and ka-boom, there ya go, but nope.

And we're giving these guys more fame and money simply by discussing it.
