Good afternoon capsuleers!

The results of the 9th Council of Stellar Management Elections are now available.

You can check out a few figures on the voting, as well as the names of your newly elected CSM9 representatives in a new dev blog by CCP Leeloo here!

She will also be on hand in this thread to answer any questions you might have regarding the CSM.

will you be releasing the same vote info that was released last year, so players can get a feel for how the election played out and who was 'close' and might get over the hump next year (and should start campaigning now, etc)

Eligible voters had cast 31,294 votes, meaning that the number of votes cast this year is significantly lower than for CSM 8. We feel that this is due to a lack of awareness about the CSM’s form and function within the community, and we will be working actively with CSM9 to reach a broader audience over the coming term.

alternatively; people know about the CSM, and just don't give a ****.
i was just as aware this year of the CSM elections, except i voted on 2 less accounts than last year because i just didn't feel motivated to vote.

also lets just get it out of the way before dinsdale comes in here with his rant that the statistic he wants isn't in here and this proves nullsec cartels etc etc: what percentage of eligible accounts cast votes?

I'll come forward and say that I did not vote with any of my 7 accounts.

Honestly seemed like too much effort to first find out who I actually wanted to vote for and then juggle all the logins for such a small payoff so I just put it off until the deadline had passed.

The lineup seems fine to me though; I probably wouldn't have voted significantly differently so I really cant complain.

And this conclusion (low turnout caused by lack of awareness) is supported by what evidence?

it's not your fault -- it's the fault of your leadership for not telling you how to vote

Seconded :)

And to comment on the low amount of Votes :

- 1 Announcment in Launcher, for most of the time second/thrid slide, so not really effective
- 1 News at mid-election to inform that Elections were opened, quickly overshadowed by some DevBlogs
- No "In game Login Screen Announcment" like there was every single year before
- No Candidates who actually reached out in Game to High Sec. I remember having at least 1 or 2 CSM candidates sending Eve-Mails to as much people as they could, this year around no one did it.

I would also say that each year players who are involved feels that the CSM is less and less meaningful and more and more of a "advisor" than anything else, which dosen't help getting people to actually read and vote :)

Did I miss the mass e-mail/skype broadcast by The Mittani that got sent out to every null sec alliance so we could own the CSM and therefore CCP like last year?

I voted. My candidate (specific) got in. Happy enough.

Still think CSM voting should be advertised via an eve-mail.

Aaaaaaand relax.
