Has farming changed significantly in the last year?

TLDR (for those who don't want to read a paragraph): I've been unsub'd for 18 months and wanna know if anything is new in the world of carebearing, aside from incursions. I'm flush with SP, but not isk.

Longer version: Re-sub'd my main account today and not sure if i'll re-activate the other account just yet (CCP will get that one back if they continue to follow up on the good work in crucible). I've got a drake parked in empire space somewhere, some 'sploring ishtars out in a sleepy lowsec dump, and a sb which I presume was for FW missions (can't recall the last time I was in a militia, but it's been a while vOv).

Old mates have informed me that incursions are the new hotness, but the idea of putting up with fleets for pve and pvp makes me want to blow chunks on my keyboard. I'm not anti-social, but I get enough fleeting from the pvp side of things. My isk reserves are essentially gone, i've got 200m granted to me by a friend so I wouldn't have to suffer the embarrassment of flying my drake for a solid week getting started again. I've got over 100m sp and fly most every subcap decently, so it's simply a question of where is best to "start over," on the money grind. I'm not trying to sustain my account with PLEX, but making enough to bank-roll my indy alt again (when and if I resub him) is my goal.

Any suggestions?

(EDIT: Just to head anyone off before they mention it; I'm trying to avoid selling PLEX.)

Incursions are probably the best way to get ISK quick and easily in highsec.

All other highsec PvE hasn't really changed horribly much in the last 18 months (though they did add in PI, which could be decent passive income if you get it going right).

I don't think farmville is even on my alt's list of things to train, but thanks for thinking outside the box.

Missions got gimped, loot got gimped, LP is worthless, and no incursion fleet will take you unless you're in a t3/pirate pimp fit. Have fun.Bear

Feels good man.

Edit: I feel like those pub incursion fleets would suck off anyone with a max skilled logi (such as myself). Not that I want anything to do with them, but seriously, who the hell would fly a 3bil isk ship into some pub awox fleet?

Yeah I was going to say unless you have a really sexy ship forget decent incursion fleet. 200 million can't even pay down on one of those ships they fly. Although Logi will get you in fast but even there they want you to be Log V.

I've got logi V. I just don't want to run incursions.

Good grief, the tl;dr must have been too long.

There is plenty of assistance available in the Making ISK guide.

Plenty of incursion fleets will take you if you have a decently T2/faction fitted battleship: I run with fleets containing CNRs, Navy Megas, even standard ravens. We don't rake in ISK hand over fist, but we do have fun.

I agree don't like grouping with people

With that said Exploration is a good way to make Isk, you have plenty of cash to do that very well

That would be my advice. If you don't want to grind missions or incursions hit some low/null exploration. Mag/radar can easily hit 40+ mil a site and should be better now. To do any of the REALLY valuable sigs will require friends though.

drake and 'exploration' ishtars (not sure what that means) and want to make isk but not via plex and not in incursions.

  • Exploration: Dice roll dependent, sometimes decent income, requires patience & perseverence as much as skillbook skills. Improves as system security drops. need a decent scanner ship.

  • W-space: Drake will fairly easily clear C1 / C2 sites solo. w-space work is fairly effort intensive and improves markedly with experience. solo or corp approaches depending on what you likes, and similarly resident or raiding approaches. need a decent scanner ship.

  • Mission-running: Always available. Can make some isk. Drake fine for lvl3s and ok for most lvl4s. Can get boring very quickly, but doesn't require much effort or staying power.

  • Scamming and begging etc.

  • Industry and market.

  • mining, harvesting, and building stuff.

But, despite your stated aversion, the quickest easiest way for you to gather a billion or few isk is probably to throw toghether a decent T2 basilisk and spend a week or two incursion whoring. then you'll have the isk to buy whatever other role specialist ships you desire. Of course you are always able to choose any of the above mentioned slower harder routes to gather some isk

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Don't be a peasant; sell some PLEX and go do enjoyable things with your time.

The idea that you're actually considering missions in a DRAKE over this is absurd. Unless you work a minimum wage job, you're wasting your time doing anything else save incursions or C5/6 sites.

From the merchants point of view, Most Key tags have crashed in price, the value of actual level 4 mission style LP has skyrocketed to about 1500 isk per LP if you fill buy orders and about 2500-4000 average for most things now if you know how to work the sell orders.

If you Blitzed level 4's in a tengu, you could probably get away with well over 500M per day doing lazy solo isk grinding.

Incursions WHERE great, when the LP was worth 2000-3000 isk per, now the LP is about to hit rock bottom, because every one has a few million stashed away on atleast 3 alts...

Incursions ARE great, if you get into a shiny ship, load it up with T2 ammo and prepare yourself for Military style grinding, perhaps theres your 120-130M per hour, but IN REALITY, the best you will do in your first week is 300M per day, that is if you do it all day and dont die in a fail fleet.

Expect 100m isk per day doing it in a drake.
Expect to make 200m per day in a tengu
Expect to make 400m per day in a Mach/Nightmare etc
That is if you do it ALL day.

- If you get lucky, you will get into the good with a 110+m per hour Fleet Commander (who you should always tip bty!), if you run into one, stay with them and forget about the public fleets.

If you want to try incursions, follow this path of advice:

1. get a Standard T2 shield fitted Mach or shield Logistics (armor is not the best place to start if your just coming back)
2. head over to an incursion system in HIGHSEC and just sit there, listen to the lingo make some friends, check out the fits, and LEARN who the griefers are! at all costs avoid losing your only ship to them, do NOT join their fleet and use your common sense before putting shields on some one or transferring energy to them!
3. Make friends and always tip the good FC's with a note "Thank you"

tl;dr there is less to do as a solo grinder these days, and it earns you less.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing.

If you want to blend PVE with PVP, do a lowsec Incursion. Fits are cost effective (T2 AHACS or even T1 BCs typical) and the people you find doing them aren't the mouthbreathing 12hour-a-day grind type.

Or, join a WH corp.

The mouthbreathers are the ones that give you isk. Lowsec fcs tend to be far less efficient despite less competition. Too much smalltalk. I prefer to get the grind done with asap so I can do what I want instead.

Oh, I agree. My problem is simply I cannot bear to do it.
Fleet with special boy Ammzi here, and you'll see what I mean. About of 1/3 of "FCs" will just tag the targets, yet they manage the same (or very similar) ISK/hr as self important mouthbreathers who go:
