Why? Because I interpreted your statement "I think I have heard them before" as an allusion to Alexander Dumas' The Three Musketeers. In that novel, the main character names are Athos, Porthos, and Aramis (along with d'Artagnan). Is this not the reference you intended?

It's still short-sighted with regards to DPS distribution from the rattlesnake

Drone DPS
Pre-Kronos - 20% per drone
Post-Kronos - 50% per drone
post-kronos Gecko - 100%


And before or the fanboi's come raging in about the massive HP buff drones will get
Drones are still highly vulnerable to webbing & smartbombs now, and they will be afterwards as well
guns/missiles ... not so much

I know this has been done from a purely pvp based aspect .. because 'server loads'
CCP can coat it with as much sugar as they like
as changes go it's still a turd.

Considering that an enemy has decided to focus his efforts and modules on a single, replaceable drone that can be easily recalled within brawling ranges (which is the new area for this ship) I'd say its a win for the user. If an enemy is going to try and kill my cruiser-like drone instead of trying to kill the RHML/Cruise/Torp BS that is tearing him a new one and then pounding him in it...I say let him do it.

Webs, maybe, provided they have another to slap on you to stop you from webbing them in a brawl fit. If you're running a range fit then you still have roughly 800DPS coming from missiles so frigates (and Sansha ships because faster than MWD speed with no sig bloom) may be a problem but others not as bad as you make it out to be.

Smartbombing a RattleGecko on the other hand.... Will take around 156(132 w/heat) seconds with full rack of Large tech2 so that's not exactly the easiest thing to do in the world. The super drone thing really does remove that weakness from drones in it's entirety

Qnd whats so hard about throwing a shield or amror repper on your rattler, and when your drone starts taking shots, give it a couple cycles. Plus you dont NEED to use a gecko. Theyre just an entertaining break from sentrys

Yeah, it all makes much more sense now. The stats were so out of whack something extra had to be at play.
