Bounty payout is 20% of loss value on the killmail.

Ship death only. OP was being podded so it wouldn't have reduced the pool any.

OP - as J'poll suggests, it really doesn't matter.

I believe implants are taken into account on pod death. But not sure about it.

Confirming implants definitely give out bounty :)

Yes I'm fairly sure if you have a bounty and someone pods you and you have implants fitted the attacker will get 20% of their value in ISK if there is enough bounty ISK in the kitty. I'm fairly sure it happened to me a little while ago after I was podded as my bounty went down a lot. Oops

There are people that just go through the station list and put 100k on everybody in the station.

Or declare that today is letter "K" day and bounty everyone in local with a name containing the letter, and double the bounty for a first letter match.

You wouldn't believe all the silly bounty games I've heard of.

Most of my bounties seem to get stuck on me right after making a comment in help. Whether it was an answer or a question seems irrelevant.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Posting to say I agree, the bounty system is broken and having a bounty placed on your character is nothing to worry about.

Also I'd like to add that the players who posted the bounty actually just wasted their ISK.

Broken!

Useless!

Waste of ISK!

Bounties are a subscription service to keep track of a characters losses, and slightly rewards parties that cause these losses. That they do not affect agression mechanics does not make them "broken" or "useless". Is it unwise to spend your ISK on bounties? Well it probably is. But they say the same things about drugs and alcohol in real life. Doesn't mean one can't have a little fun...

Its all about definition, You have a bounty on your head because you did something to someone else, hence you deserve the "WANTED" tag and corresponding bounty.

Here is where is falls apart, when someone places a bounty on another because they can. This is out right prejudice, placing a possibly innocent capsule-er at unnecessary risk through no fault of their own. Its desirable for some freighters, miners etc. to keep a low profile, having an unwanted label and financial incentive no matter how small (as for some it takes only a little excuse.) to get blown away is not good.

So here how it goes whats good for one is good for all and if this issue is not taken seriously then everyone should place a bounty and wanted on everyone they feel like, its bad enough having to deal with morons, but when you play a game to relax (yes relax) then being pulled into the ****** side of things just ruins the fun. because someone dosn't like the look of you.

Here is my solution.

The only time you should be able to place a bounty on another is when they have committed a suspect action against you. ( you have the time it takes for the suspect timer to run out to think about and place a bounty.) simple as.

If however you don't like someone then you should go through the 'Contracts and place an actual hit on someone' which morons can find in contracts.

Hence we have the distinction of both "good bounty hunters" and moron hitmen.

As many have above you , said bounty does nothing:P. Its a badge of honour, wear it with pride.

Fixed that link for you Blink

Just ignore the bounty. If you want to get back at the people who place it, suit yourself up in a rookie ship, have your friend blow you up, rinse and repeat. Every time a bounty is paid out, the persons who tagged you will receive a notification, and there's nothing they can do to stop it.

Unless this is against the rules somehow... doubt it.

As was mentioned above, just ignore the Bounty. Because of how they pay out, they are pretty much ignored by everyone from a "do I shoot you" standpoint. In other words, the decision of shooting or shooting you will almost never include "oh hey, he has a bounty on him". You will be just fine.
