As professional carebear, i dont like cloaky camping at all
And i would, ofc, welcome any thing that would reduce it, like "Press that button once per hour or you will be decloaked yay"

On the other hand, wouldnt be much more simple to just create covops version of cyno jammer and make it uber expensive?

But ye, another thread like this...
There is a lot of topics like this
But this one is yours
Than makes it speshul

Cute, the OP is like a really stupid summary of everything cloaking-related on this forum. I'll give you a solid 7/10 on the comedy front.

On the cloaking front, I suggest giving every ship cloaking-ability. Actual cloaks then could give the ship the additional ability to warp cloaked: Protoype cloaks half your warp-speed, improved cloaks only reduce warp-speed by 10%.

Oh and cov-ops cloaks allow your ship to lock and shoot while cloaked, of course. There is no other way. Pirate

Also no (again.)

And put me down for "No" the next six times this topic comes up (should get me to mid-year.)

The cure to cloaky campers is to not be so utterly controlled by risk aversion that he stops you from doing anything.

Whoa! It's this thread topic again. I can't believe its already been a whole day since the last time it was brought up. What?

the fix is to shut the **** up and stop crying about a non-existant problem

I thought of this as we have a cloaky in our system, and knowing how CCP pride themselves on how Eve has no real game rules, and 'Hot-droppers' will suffer if any other method was implemented, so a timer on some sort of modual/sov-modual with a set timer of say, 3hrs?, (allows hot-drops, makes it interesting), and after the timer is triggered, the offender cant log off let alone do anything else, so SOV owners/renters can blow up offender and pod for good measure.

Take this a step further and put a modual on gates so once a camper has been 'busted' the gate wont allow them in or at least penalize the known camper by killing the cloaking device!.

Currently there seems to be no cure for the cloaky campers, and pilots go play other games while being camped, CCP this does mean your subscribers may find a different game to enjoy and discontinue with Eveonline.

Ditch the rules, create counter measures.

Make an upfront agreement with your neighbour to use their anoms (be polite don't move a carrier into someone elses system to rat with) when you have a camper and that will either reveal the camper to actually be afk, or let you trap it coming through the gate if its not.

Even if you don't kill it, forcing it to gate, forces it to reveal its hull type.

Plenty of counter measures... they just require effort... and a bit of imagination. Welcome to EVE. Roll

I have to say i do find that having the ability to stay cloaked indefinitely while you go play on another char just to be annoying is well lame, saying that it is a valid play style if somewhat boring.

To stay in a system in space for however long you want and no one will ever find you seems to me be a problem, you call people nullbears for wanting combat which seems a bit odd, afk cloakys do everything they can to avoid combat, its there job, sit there afk and try to look big and bad.

Should there be a way to stop this, well personally yes i think there should. i had thought of maybe a mod that would ping the area and highlight the spot there in while not actually reviling there exact location, but after a while i realized this wouldn't work as if there are in a deep safe how do you warp to them.

So my thoughts come to this, your probes have a limited life span out side, maybe your cloak should take heat damage over a period of time, make it small so that the heat damage taken by the cloak for say a normal t1 would give it a hour of permanent running. T2 and faction could last longer ofc. so if you afk for to long your cloak will break and you will become visible to scans.

the numbers ofc can all be changed. but i do believe a solution to this craze that's afk cloaking needs to be addressed, sry to all those guys that constantly sit in our systems for hours on end doing nothing but hiding but hey we do want a chance at killing you :)

and no this isn't a alt.

Ah.. but therein lies the problem.... ::effort:: .

Imagination isn't the issue.. AFK Camping only works due to overactive imaginations.

Do not try to nerf the camper, that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth: There is no threat ; and you will see that it is not the reds that keep you docked.. but only yourself.

ahhh local is extremely powerful, particularly in null and cloaked campers are a counter to that.

Because what does someone who is cloaked do to you? Nothing. You can go on with your piddly existance as a renter.

Until he decloaks and points you for being complacent of course. But then if you weren't a lazy and vulnerable pilot, you would have a trap set.

Sounds like you just need to bend the way you play the game instead of bending the game to suit you and friggin' deal with it.

CCP ignore me please, I make too much sense.

Hi, I'm a website programmer, and owner of the website http://sociopath-community.com. I spend a lot of time working at my computer, and I don't really enjoy the elitist leadership in most corporations. I, instead, choose to spec toward curse and pilgrim, and harass large corporations with my cloaky.

This is the only way I have of getting back at the big corperations and making them suffer. Please dont take it from me!
