Fellow Galactic Community,

We, the Venlith Taal corporation, are proud to announce that after months of planning and having recently obtained the necessary permits, are ready to begin the study of the archaeological records of Huggar, the third planet in the Pator system. Some amongst you may know that there has been evidence that Huggar was previously settled by an unknown civilization. In the name of scientific curiosity, our corporation will be working to uncover any and all information possible in order to learn more about this civilization.

By request of the local authorities, we are also engaging in a secondary, lower priority investigation of historical settlements and culture of the Minmatar people, both before and during the Amarrian occupation. All of our findings will be made available to the public domain for peer review purposes and in order to promote freedom of knowledge.

Archaeological digs will commence in previously identified sites of former settlements, along with several areas marked for study through orbital scans which indicate possible signs of former settlement and non-natural landscaping, despite no known records of such settlement. Further examination with more precise ground-based equipment will determine the importance of these areas as future excavation sites.

For the present our corporation will be undertaking this effort solely on our own expense, however we hope in the future to be able to join our efforts with historians and universities thoughout the cluster and formally invite them all to take part in this effort to broaden the understanding of ancient civilizations.

For those interested in following our progress and news of other, future projects, you can join in our public GalNet Mailing List - Venlith Taal.

Didn't the Amarians wipe out all the things of cultural signifigance in the Pator system durring the invasions? I really hope you find anything and everything, but even that unknown civilization, wouldn't that have been leveled too? I mean you might find something but how much can you really get?

A few words to express my curiosity to your findings to come, and my thanks to your will of sharing them.

Well, that is what we're hoping to find out. We consider it highly unlikely that the Reclaiming effort truly managed to destroy all and every trace of cultural history., partly because historical records indicate the Amarr were largely content with passing slave raids on Huggar and if they had permanent terrestrial presence it was likely a relatively small force by Amarrian standards, hopefully incapable of complete decimation of local culture. For example, there could be time capsules throughout known settled areas, hidden by children or simply buried under the rubble of destroyed buildings and their foundations. Otherwise discarded items - that is to say, even trash - literally anything we find could teach us more about the planet's history.

We hope to find signs of this ancient civilzation around the same areas we know to be old minmatar settlements. Simply because cities tend to rise near abundant water sources, it is possible, even probable, that this civilzation settled much of the same areas as the ancient Minmatar did. To find out more, we quite literally, will have to dig deeper.

I must remind you that as we have begun our work only today, it will take several weeks to months to even years before we can start to piece together the history. We will, however in the meantime keep you updated on particularly interesting findings if or when we come across such.

Thats interesting, I would think they would have systematically wiped everything out. Im looking forward to hearing about your findings.

My curiosity may be slightly off-topic, but you may be in a better position than me to know of the topic. How well have the enormous swathes of space in those systems been surveyed? Finding a cold installation in space is damn near to impossible even when you know the approximate locations, but one would think a fairly cataclysmic event such the one destroying enormous amounts of Minmatar dirtside artifacts etc would lead to a lot of abandoned space projects. Civilian and military both.

It would be very interesting to see the technology, architecture and with a little luck documentation from that era. Obviously, space is in no shortage but using both what little remains of historical data, known practices and habits when it comes to determining project sites and some highly sophisticated survey gear one should be able to find something if there is anything to find.

Prime Node. Ask me about augmentation.
