Probably has been brought up before but I was thinking that maybe there could be room for basically the same thing as a super carrier just a super dreadnought. I didn't run through the fine details but there's the idea. Beat it up and do what you do best forum people!

A super dreadnaught is called a Titan.

But a titan is meant for bridging fleets. not for large scale structure bashing. By the time you get the jump portal generator and the clone bay on the titan there goes some weapon slots. Plus most people wont bring a 100bil + ship for structure bashing.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Yes but in theory it does have the same guns, is a supercap, etc etc. People don't use them as structure bashing ships or usually even in combat but in theory they can.

They can but i'm saying a ship that is more practical for it. very specific niche but there can be a ship to fit it. Other than bringing a crap load of regular dreads

you mean like a titan?

I'm sorry but you're asking for something that's already in the game. Yes the titan can bridge things but that's it's secondary role it's other role is for the DDD which eats things and makes them explode now shush

Clone bay? Lol, no. Also, how many turret hard points do you think they have (Levi excluded)?

A regular dread already starts at roughly 3bil, how much is a super dread going to cost that it will be cost effective to bring over a regular dread but not cost prohibitive?

See it this way:

If there is a marauder bastioned up, you can either bridge in a nag and oneshot it, then wait 280seconds until you're out of siege again, or you can bridge in a leviathan, oneshot the marauder and warp off.

Would say the titan is more impressive 8)

It probably *has* been brought up before. Many times actually.

I don't mean to be a **** but you need to lurk moar - threads like this pop up all the time and a simple use of the search function would show you just how succesful all the other hundreds of attempts at this thread have been.

Literally you say.

Abowii posted a comment that perhaps shows ignorance in regards to Titans. Ignorance is a lack of knowledge.

Literally dumb would be someone who, say, interprets someone as dumb when the information available does not allow for such a conclusion.

Thats a common misconception, it was supposed to go a bit like this originally:

Titan -> Uber hand of God smacking the grid, thus only a few existing
Mothership -> Provide a mobile base of operations
Dreadnought -> Seige weapon to destroy or flip POSes, Stations, and other large stationary targets.
Carrier -> To provide logistical support

What really happened was this:

Titan -> Oh GOD its PL again, runnn another 12 titans doing a drive by...DD DD DD *EVERYONE DEAD*
Motherships -> Still performed their role...somewhat
Dreadnoughts -> **** the stations and POSes, kill ze 10+ titans that just dropped in on us.
Carrier -> That pretty much stayed where it was too

However NOW:

Titan -> Super Dreadnought
Mothership (renamed Supercarrier) -> Super Carrier (heh its in the name)
Dreadnoughts -> Dreadnought ----------------------------------^
Carrier -> Carrier-----------------------------------------------------^

As you can see there is already a super dread, people dont really think of a titan as being one because of its other services, bridging, vats, and such. However, the slots isnt the issue. You can put a full set of guns on a titan and it still wont be that much damage compared to a Dread simply because it lacks siege mode bonuses. With that being said, it makes up for that using DD. As such you can compact all the power of a dread and more into a DD allowing you to utilize the other slots for services.

Weapons don't scale the way CCP does it. The missile explosions would be speed tanked by other dreadnoughts, and turrets wouldn't be capable of tracking planets in their orbit.
