Recruit Ads Focus on Training,Then Trust

Recruiting should focus on who can fit into your corp members based on training, then who is trustworthy. Currently, training is practically ignored but is pivotal for integrating new players into an already functioning team.

Character Sheet > Skills > Certificate links (recently updated) open variable-level windows and required skills. Listing certificate links in a corp recruiting ad shows new recruits what to train, before applying to join corp.

Example: a corp recruiting ad > training plan includes links to the following certificates:
All Combat Drones - Improved
Scout Drones - Advanced
Support Drones - Elite
Cloaking - Advanced
Electronic Counter Measures - Advanced
Tackling - Elite
etc.

edit:
Isis mastery can also be linked, providing specific doctrine info when needed.

not sure what you're really asking for here mate ... I mean, most corps already have a basic guideline (e.g. 10m SP); and it's kind of a given that if you have 10m SP in industry, you're not really gonna cut it in PvP.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

How often do corps update their ads? What are the chances the information they put on their ad will still be relevant by the time you apply?

True, most corps have a basic requirement of 5-10 mil skill points; some require more and some beginner corps require zero SP. I am not asking for any of that (skill point minimum) to change.

I am asking for "encouragement" for recruiting ads to have truth in advertising. Otherwise, players can end up just wasting their time endlessly joining/leaving corps until they can find other similar players. Generally, certificates tell new recruits these are the skills required to fleet with us.

Results in the recruiting search window (prior to joining a new corp) is the key here, since after you join a corp it is kind of late for a player to eliminate the corp due to training issues. The corp has a chance to pick/not pick players; the opposite is also true so players need more information in order to pick a corp for a good fit/be part of a team. i.e. start making isk with minimum amount of training or contribute to pvp fleets.

Another missing aspect is a potential recruit's method to verify suspect advertising claims by corporations. I suppose searching forums for negative comments is an option, but placing feedback (such as comments and +/- voting) on the recruiting window just makes sense. Forget using like/dislike system, which can appear to be abused in certain circumstances. Writing out specific answers to questions may be a better choice for a feedback system in the recruiting window.

I believe you have posted this in the wrong section of the forums.

Here is the proper place to discuss Corp/Alliance Recruiting: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=266

This idea has potential for changing the current recruiting system. I am not exactly sure how to do that, but I am not trying to get recruited. Features and Ideas Discussion is the place for discussing ideas.

Those are questions you should be asking a recruiter prior to joining a new corp. Individual players could use some tools for weeding out bad corps during their selection process, so the best choice for new corp is the player's first choice.

Corps looking for specific skill sets are rare. But they may have a short skill plan for u to help u get the most out of ur char in a short amount of time.

problem i foresee with the idea is that in my experience, corp ads are lies. this is what happens with pretty much every corp with filters in their add.

they say they do small gang PvP, and then never do anything of the sort.
they say they do exploration, and then never do anything of the sort.
they say their time zone is 23.5/7 and are only active on a certain time zone.
they say they have 20 members, 13 of which are inactive, 3 of which are alts.

In this context the ad will just say 'we take players with any and all skills' and then once uve joined corp tell u 'train this, this and this'.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

I think an acceptable end result of this would be corp ads with full disclosure. Why should I waste my time, energy, and resources joining an organization that has lied about anything in their ad? Some method (in the recruiting window) for players to conduct a 'checks and balances' function on prospective corporations before applying/joining them is severely needed. Like maybe a generic corp api or something that can do that function.

^^Yes, exactly.

A better direction for corps is recruiting full disclosure. Examples: Indy-50mSP-1 :: Combat-23mSP-1 :: Combat-45mSP-2
