Ship for Killing Guristas

My alt flies a laser ship, and it's getting quite tedious watching EM/TH not doing much against Guristas. I've heard they're weak to kinetic, so was wondering if there's a ship that really stands out when killing Guristas rats.

Apparently the Tengu would be a wise choice, so that's a possibility, I made a fit which I quite like. What about any faction BS? I'm not overly sure about Projectile weapons, their ammunitions and whether to use autos/arties. If autos could get decent ranges (probably 40-50km), then I believe the Mach would be quite good, perhaps with something like Tritanium Sabot rounds. Hybrids I understand a bit more of, are Railguns any good after this patch then? Would a Gallente ship (or Caldari Rokh?) be useful with them?

Other than that, I can only assume a Tengu with Scourge missiles would be best. Any suggestions?
Thanks all :)

I prefer drone boats, due to the crazy ECM guris can sometimes have. A Gila/Ishtar/Domi/Snake with wardens and garde's tears through guris rather quickly, even when jammed.

Yeah perhaps a drone boat would be nice for those jamming parts. It would mean getting my drone skills up and they're quite poor, so that could take some time. I think I worked a Tengu skill plan to be around a month, given my current alts skills.

Really want something with high DPS, so Raven and Drake are out of here :D

Tengu in this case and jaming is not realy problem if you have sequencer subsystem... +gravi sensor booster and you will jamed very very rarely.

Yeah I don't get jammed with the Tengu very often and I fight Gurista all the time. Plus once you learn who can jam take them down first most of the cruisers are 2 shot pop the high end cruisers like the murderer are a few shots. Exterminator is a bit more annoying.

I thought jamming rats were a set chance to jam, and ignored your sensor strength? Are you guys using ECCM then? I had a spare med slot, so I guess I could use that, would certainly help! Thanks for all the responses guys :)

Nope. NPCs check a percentage against sensor strength. They roll on different tables than player jamming, but the net effect of increased sensor strength is quite similar.

Mach would be first choice. Falloff with a typical 3 te 4 gyro fit is 75km(not 40-50km), which is enough. ~1.1k dps, 500 m/s with ab.

Tengu also works. Since it's kinetic rat, it does ~700 dps, as opposed to ~500 dps for non-kinetic rats (lulz). 100 km range. 600 m/s with ab. Rigors mandatory, since you don't have drones for frig rats.

Jamming is not a big problem for anything other than Marauders on most missions.

Tengu ...

Install a Disolution Sequencer and a little extra ECCM, and you'll roll through Guristas like a hot knife through butter Big smile
