Something being considered doesn't mean it's going to happen within just a few months.
It's a decision being made outside of my hands and I doubt it's going to happen anytime soon. sorry.

Np. I am really satisfied with this feature.
I had to, and the department, had to go through MANY obstacles on the way to make this happen.

So I am really crossing my fingers that you will like this when it comes out and that it will be used as intended.

the intended use was for it to be used in many ways, and hopefully there will be a lot of different kinds of uses for it and feedback so I can see if it needs a tweak here and there or if something is not as intended.

It's a fairly open system, taking into account that players will find their own way to use it or exploit it. so I'm looking forward to see how it's being used

the automated sounds of cargohold and mining crystals are definitely on my list. or auto reloading modules.

market sold out, you mean, if you open the market and there is absolutely nothing ? or if what you are selling has been sold?

YES! THIS PLEASE. You are making the CEO job that much easier! We get spammed with wallet notifications, sales, contracts, mails, chat etc all the time.

Could it ever be a consideration to add the same concept we are talking about to the new chat filters they recently worked on? That would notify you if someone joined that channel, mentioned your name etc. ?

I'd like to thank you for your active participation to the forums a few patches ago when Rubicon had a lot of new sound effects, that was cool !

I have a question though since I missed your intervention at fanfest (was it streamed at all? Sad), are there any plans on adding more sounds effects to affect the gameplay in the future? (Like a sound for "New ennemies on grid" although this one is now taken by the new warp effects)

Yes. and No.
There are some game design issues on it, and the new warp in effect may not solve the problem you are asking about, but we'll see when it's fully integrated. But everything UI and game design related, has to be "approved" by them first or created by them and I create a game audio feature for just that.

some of the thoughts I have been having are: (basically just a brainstorming on stuff I would personally love to see in the game)

1. New enemies on grid. not friends or neutrals, but enemies.
2. new object on D-scan, different from your last scan, if made within the last 5 minutes it doesn't warn you. I'm trying to come up with a design document on how this could work.

3. audible warnings, instead of just UI icons and sound effects on the actual visual effect, to tell you about the situation at hand.
Cap drain, cargohold full, scramble, web, etc.

4. with the new audio customization menu, we open up to a whole new way of dealing with sound. yet my main problem is finding room in the menu and not just getting more sliders in, yet the game is advanced and advanced options are a natural part of it, doesn't mean that everything should be swamped in options.

4.1 Choosing how far away you want to hear the new warp in effect.
4.2 which warnings do you want sound for, with a bunch of checkboxes.
4.3 Stuff that doesn't have a UI icon or other form of indication, could have a sound cue, like "research job done" or similar.

4.4. A few customization options in the menu, regarding when to hear armor, shield and hull warnings. setting the threshold is possible already, but it's well hidden.

I want everything in the game, sound wise, to be open for customization of volume, distances and so on.
That will NOT, and never will, give you the option to put in custom sounds of your own, but I want the game to fit the EVE Universe sound aesthetically and you as a player to have the ability to shape your needs to make it just right.

I want sound to belong in the gameplay, not something you turn off because it's not needed or you think you don't need it. if you don't like sound, then fine, but I want it to be something special and customization friendly to every player.
All this above, is a number of thoughts of mine, I am not the person to make final decisions and it's just part of what I try to pitch every time we have a brainstorming, so if it might take a while to get all this done, then you know why.

totally. a form of cue on how much was sold or was all of it sold and so on.
perhaps a checkbox saying "partial reminder" or "complete reminder" whenever the items where sold more than 50% or 100% (or bought, for that matter)

An idea on the "Cargo Hold Capacity" warning: Could it be configurable on a slider so I can set when it's 70% full or 90% full etc.
Just a thought in case you were considering going down that route.

I like options, a slider is good but would it be possible to have a click to mute instead of sliding a slider all the way to the left? I don't want to use it but it would b easier to just click the name of the sound I want to mute rather than sliding all the way to left multiple times.

And thanks for digging the roundtable, it was way more full than last year and the attention this year on audio has been really great, actually put a little hope back in me :D

I think the motivation and enthusiasm works both ways, I'm like a shotgun at the moment with so many ideas of things I want to do it's unreal! Sound is a really important part of my EvE experience and environmental awareness.

I'm not too keen on the "sound when enemies\below neutrals land on grid". I think it's too much but that's me.

What about an electronic interference\static-like sound when you have EWAR being inflicted upon you...you know because of Falcon lol. Thought it might be a cool thing.

Summer cannot come quickly enough for that warp-in sound and graphics, so much like this video [AfterFX] Eve Online alternate warp effect or Battlestar Galactica FTL travel.

yea, it's all in the tweaking. a lot of stuff could be done, but a lot of that stuff would also be too much.
and for all this we are probably looking at a long planning schedule anyway, so we'll start from one end or another.

sound of someone locking you would be cool. i kept the "target them back" option on for a long time just to hear when someone is about to attack you.

also... the new supersonic boom warp sound effect already solves the "new ship on grid" problem :)

another sound which i would love to have is a "cloak failed" sound which notifies you if something decloakes you for whatever reason

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value
