I'm working on some navigation charts. Does anyone know where the approximate region\system center of the universe is?

In fact, the system closest to [0,0,0] is apparently Skarkon in Molden Heath.

…of course, if you look at the actual distribution of systems, the centre is not [0, 0, 0] but [-86.1, 37.8, -5.8] × 10¹⁵ (at least if we filter out the w-space systems, which sit somewhere south-east of New Eden).

If we correct for that, Edmalbrurdus in Heimatar is closest to the centre.

The best write ups I've seen on New Eden's topology are here:

New Eden Topology

The first article in the series discusses the "center" of the Eve universe, for various definitions of center. Note that this is all using graph theory, so the discussions are more about the center from a gameplay perspective than a lore perspective.

You can't get there from here. Big smile

They say most of your brain shuts down on the EvE forums. All but the impatient side, and the sarcastic side. No wonder I'm still awake.

Thank you ROXGenghis for the great reading. And thank you Tippia for your vast insight and SQL prowess. Destination SkillQueue I thank you for your astrological cartographic acumen and eagerness.

And for the rest of you palookas... get a job and keep up the snark.
