OK, so the goons put a sticker on the monument, harr harr harr... But it appears (someone claiming to be) Gevlon Goblin has committed a far worse offense by defacing it permanently by scratching out a players name, then taking a picture of it and posting it to his Twitter feed to brag about it. Here's hoping CCP takes legal action against the little bastard, and ridding our universe of a truly despicable piece of scum. Goons just got bumped up another notch from the bottom in my book.

EDIT: It appears that the Twitter account in question is unconfirmed as being owned by Gevlon and only has this single post, so it's probably fake. Furthermore, his blog makes no mention of going to fanfest whatsoever, and being the bragging type it is very unlikely that he would neglect to mention himself going.

I submitted this to CCP as well. I've not been to Fan Fest, but I spent a couple of weeks in Iceland last summer and I honestly find it shocking and fairly abhorent that someone would go there and vandalize a public art installation while surrounded by the amazing natural beauty of Iceland. Completely ridiculous.

If you ask me, the authorities should be notified and perhaps charges of vandalism would be appropriate...

Yeah, people have been that dumb and even dumber. Many people are caught for much more serious crimes because they couldn't keep their mouth shut about it. Happens all the time.

If this is a twitter account that is CONFIRMED to be Gevlon (as in he has been using it for several weeks/months and has something tying it to his ingame account, screenshots or similar) then yes, throw the book at him. However if its just some random account set up in the last little while to discredit him then thats another matter. Hopefully with some investigation it can be properly decided who did this and what should be done.

Yeh looking into it in my own small way - this account was setup 2 hours ago just to post this. Grevlon doesn't use Twitter as a rule if I am not mistaken, he usually only posts to his blog. So yes, this is purely an attempt to discredit the guy and get him in trouble with CCP.

Okay so it probably wasn't him.

But if the book 1984 has taught us anything. It's that the the truth is subjective so there's no reason we can't collectively make it be him that did it.

Whoever's responsible (and I hesitate in blaming Gevlon, even though I hate his guts for being such an ass, and I dislike Xenuria almost as much), If this is real, whoever's responsible is an utter piece of crap, and should take a long at look at themselves in a mirror.

I smell a setup. Fresh account. Single Tweet is an act of stupidity that no sane person would commit under thier own name unless they hate thier character. If it's true and not photo shop, I's likely a setup. I doubt Gevlon even uses twitter and somone is trying to impersonate him.

I was there for the unveiling, however moving attacks into real life is in very poor taste. Not to mention defacing a public work. Leaves a very sour taste.

I drain ducks of their moisture for sustenance.
