I was under the impression that Empires and Pirates could make gates already, this trailer seems to imply something beyond a normal gate, perhaps one to new, distant, regions of space. Not sure who is building it, as it looks like Amarr vs everyone else in that battle.

Also the pilot at 1.38 saying " Bravo wing, clear for dust off" sounds oddly familiar, is that voice taken from a Command and Conquer game or something?

That would have been Rán, commander of the Valkyries, probably better known as Katee Sackhoff, a.k.a. Starbuck from the new Battlestar Galactica. She's doing voice-work for EVE: Valkyrie.

If they're building a gate at one place, where is the connecting gate? There are always two. So maybe they have found a (inactive) gate in some unknown space and thought bridging there without checking what's on the other side would be a good idea. It's like jumping without a scout. Silly. Suicidal. Or desperate.

Well, she's in the latest Valkyrie demo as your commander (so she's done a bunch of lines already), and her character is walking around in that trailer in a couple of shots, and given that it was directed at a fighter squadron, it was the most logical option.

And yes, it does sound a bit like the medivac from SC2.

As a trailer, amazing, the music alone is chilling. Hopefully you can make the actual game look even half as good as this. Personal highlights include the warp in animation and formations, the wide angle shot of both fleets going at it and the door opening into the Templar charge, loved the BSG moment with the dropships as well.

Legion needs to be a lot bigger, according to this video we can have thousands of ships ranging from dropships to titans hammering on each other outside but the interior "battle" will be at most a 10v10 affair? hardly the grand scale we've come to expect from Eve. If you're taking on Star Citizen in space, at least be brave enough to take on PS2 on the ground, it's not as if you could do any worse than SOE.

Once again a super B trailer. My hat's off to the people at CCP's SFX department.
Now if only EVE was this exciting… >.>

On a side note this trailer made me remember a Babylon 5 movie called 'Thirdspace' in which they find an artifact that is actually a giant jump gate that takes one neither to normal space nor to hyperspace but to a "third" space and was build by an ancient and overwhelming alien force which had once attempted to destroy life in the milky way.

Did you guys notice that at 0:50 in the bottom left corner it says " Drekar alliance command" Which confirms that these guys are capsuleers. But what i find funnier is that Drekar alliance was supposedly dismantled from the inside in the eve : causality trailer.

And i have theory, im 99% sure of it ...

Remember they announced stargates buildable by players?
CCP say they will lead to new systems...
We have intriguing trailer with building stargate ...
We have some talks about old human systems on fanfest and by last expansions like Oddysey (Solar system, EVE gate etc).

Im pretty sure they're preparing us for those promised buildable stargetes which will lead into ...

So that's EVE players, building a gate, being attacked by an NPC Amarr armada? That would be a great feature for the game.

Maybe that massive gate allows capital ships to move into new systems without or beyond cyno. Going by its size in the trailer and that a wrecked carrier drifts easily by it's opening (3.14), it is big enough.

Might be linked to this recent discovery Boundless Creations reveals technological breakthrough.

You can rest assured that when the first one fires up, it will be a capsuleer armada.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

The gatebuilding will probably be a spacerace between N3PL and CFC [if they are both still around in a few years].

Kinda hoping that whatever is behind those gates will rip us a new one.
