I heard from a very reliable source that this is in fact an attempt to get more pilots to Iceland... Roll

Maybe you will be able to blow up a high sec gate or station.

But as there is no way to war dec the NPCs, it has to be a suicide gank.

So if all the starter stations get destroyed, no new subscriptions? Blink

C'mon, CCP, let's see how far this "risk" thing can go.

High Sec stations wont be able to be blown up.

you cant war dec any of the corps in highsec that own the stations.

Made a signature so I am taken seriously on the forums, since thats the only thing they are good for.

It would be interesting though if they were conquerable.

making NPC stations destroyable so that anything inside gets destroyed, is just CCPS ISK Sink mechanism going into meltdown.

The game would die the minute that was introduced.

CCP just announced that Everything in space will eventually be destructible.

There will no longer be anywhere to leave your expensive stuff to keep it safe.

This will get interesting very quickly

Eventually the sun will burn out.

Do yourself a favor and don't listen to the crap CCP is saying at fanfest because 90% of it will never happen or will be half assed as usual.

^ this. I'm still waiting for ring mining from a few fanfests ago. Same as for a UI / HUD re-work again from a few fanfests ago. Also the visible shields in ships and detailed damage models as promised several fanfests ago. Starting to see a pattern here....?

The minute Jita 4-4 gets blown up, CCP will probably lose a third of their subscriber base. I very much doubt "everything" applies to high-sec NPC stations. After all, it certainly doesn't apply to moons and planets.

Besides, with capitals restrained to low-sec I don't even know if it'd be possible to break the shield tank on a station. Certainly not before Concord comes to ruin the party.

With the changes to Freighters, Capitals will no longer be restrained to low sec. I dunno if you caught that part where Freighters will allow modules and rigs now, but that means that dreads and carriers will likely be coming to high sec.

The reason they did not get them in the first place was to keep people from packaging carriers and dreads and loading them onto Freighters bound for high sec.

This was direct from CCP at the time when everyone asked the same questions.

15th June 2022 13:43: Today Eve Online has released a major patch including a station specifically for 10 year veterans of the game that offers the luxury of walking through corridors with your peers. Another major feature is the ability to destroy all artificial structures within the game.

17th June 2022 08:21: The recently added 10 year veteran station, in addition to all major trade hubs and stargates have been destroyed resulting in the destruction of $14b worth of internet spaceships and pilot's licenses, dwarfing a recent battle which caused the loss of 15,000 Titan class supercapital ships worth an estimated $40m.

what i took from it was destroyable gates are the gates you can also build and they lead to some wormholes 2.0 space, also player stations is obviously what they are considering not npc ones...as in nullsec...not highsec...

but just nullsec alone is a huge huge huge change if it happens,it will force change of gameplay forever.

Depends on if the people in system blew the stargates before goonswarm could get there.

I'm pretty sure this is aimed at Outposts and not highsec stations.

When High sec people are not willing to defend their freedoms, why they should keep their stuff? They would at least have a possibility to defend themselves.

As was explained to me, many years ago, the reason that outposts were not destructible to begin with was that docked ships, etc, exist in a separate node than ships in space. These two nodes talk to each other, but have to have a 'fixed' reference point. If the reference point were destroyed, it would effectively break the hanger.

The other issue is the sheer amount of rage quitting that would take place.

i presume it will be fixed so that caps cant enter highsec, re: no cargo expander rigs and no expanded cargohold mods are allowed on freighters/JFs, OR, the cargohold wil be nerfed so much that it cant carry them with rigs/mods fitted.

Stuff getting destroyed is NOT an ISK sink! Your wallet is not in station!
