Not going to space for awhile

So, my new job requires a serious grounding in theoretical physics - which I do not have. I have been trying to catch up using galnet courses and so forth, but it turns out that's not the best way for someone like me to learn about how space works.

SO. I will not be going to Space for awhile, whilst I knuckle down and attend a hard physics course at a reputable (and unnamed) institution. Go me.

((I will probably be back in about six months, once I'm bored of being bored of Eve.))

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

If it is possible I would recommend continuing your capsuleer hard writing as you study. I am not sure the connotations of mental strain or if that is even possible but you will be grateful to return to a better clone than you left.

Best of luck Pieter.

Good luck Pieter! I'm happy to help with any of the mathy bits, if you want.

A six-month engram imprinting time? What in god's name are you studying?

Or-- or are you actually trying to learn this with books and stuff?

...

I don't understand.

The issue (as I understand it, knuckledragger that I am) is that some of it is linked to applied fields and to piloting tasks and, therefore, I need to build the same muscle memory and conscious familiarisation that I would with, say, piloting a ship class.

Or, I don't know, maybe there's a degree of academic snobbery involved, with me needing to prove I can do it the old fashioned way, too?

I'm hoping we can hang out fairly regularly, Schere-suuolo. But yes, I may come crying to you with mathy problems.

The State now needs all the soldiers we could get, Tuulinen-haan, gallentean opressors are still encroaching into our territory and we need to repel their occupation.

Mr. Tuulinen, Best of luck to you in your studies to further advance your knowledge. Will you be attending a school in station or planet side?

I think I'm going planetside. It'll make hiking and running in natural surroundings super-easy and I also feel like studying under a tree, as a stereotypical luxury.

It is a particularly appropriate stereotypical luxury if one intends to study theoretical physics.

However, please do not invent any new mathematical systems. It's so bad, one practically needs a new mathematical system to keep track of all the bloody mathematical systems. I mean, really. Is it acceptable if I blame you for this, Schere, sweetie?

Some exotic Particles produced during High-Energy Physics research are Known to cause Information Errors in many Cyber-Implants, including Capsuleer implants, but have otherwise No Effect on a biological Brain of a human Person.

Thus, Pieter, take care of your Brain while performing your Physics Research. Space is Likely to still be Here when you Return.

Also, it will give you More Time to Contemplate the Statue of Yourself that I constructed as a Wedding Gift. Enjoy.

Sincerely,

I think I can safely promise you that I will invent no new mathematical systems, Ms Noh. Promise!

Gosh. Well, I'm glad you liked my latest submission to Caldari Data Processing, Lady Noh! I did sort of go a little overboard, didn't I?

I'll take care of the boolean universe definitions, Pieter, you worry about the physics! I'm sure you'll do well :)

Much obliged to you, boss. Sorry the math turned out to be harder than calculating pursuit curves and ballistic trajectories!
