Freight Containers

So with apparently this bug fixes that makes freight containers vanish after downtime comes the need for an anchorable freight container. I understand the need to clean up such items that could become more numerous than there are characters in EVE so the database doesn't lag or anything, but an enormous freight has 250k m3 worth of storage whilst the ones that can anchor only have 3000 or so m3 and under. So, I imagine for those that use freight containers on a daily basis would just place 84 anchorable cans in their place (per freight container). So, if someone had 5 enormous freights, that be 420 secure containers...yeah don't want that type of clutter. So making a freight container anchorable would only make sense.

i'm pretty sure that CCP don't really want you safely storing that much stuff outside of a station.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

alternatively, we could have them like the other deployables... suspect flag for shooting it rather than a criminal flag and concord response.

Could make it pop after 4 or 5 hours, a bit like cargo containers but last longer because they're bigger.

That or make them scannable at least. They don't have to be completely safe, just an alternative to when there is no station/pos to store at.

What are you doing which takes that much space but is worthless enough not to warrant a POS?

Mining...doesn't really warrant the use of a POS, providing that the refinery array does too much waste when you could go 1-2 jumps over and refine to the max.

Freight Containers should be rebranded as a new-style mobile deployable.

- They can be anchored like usual, but no more than one within X km of another.
- They provide 350,00 m3 or whatever it is right now by default.
- They can be attacked and looted much like an MTU can currently.
- They have enough EHP so that a miner can dock up and come back to fight someone shooting it with a high DPS ship, save the Vindy and some extreme examples.
- Variations. One can have more EHP but significantly less cargo, one can have significantly more cargo but so little EHP you have no chance of docking and undocking to save it.

Emergent gameplay y0.

EDIT: Dave stark beat me to it, and with less words at that Lol
