Tutorial voice

Soooo they said that they can't make tutorial voice in EVE Online, because if they change something, they have to redo all the voice over, but they actually did hired Katee Sackhoff for EVE: Valkyrie tutorial voice over...

Is it me or is it illogical?

first thing I did on eve was to disable that annoying pop up fest, why would you want it to shout at you from the sub menu ?

Aren't Eve Online and Eve: Valkyrie different programs with different codebases that were laid down more than 10 years apart?

Two separate games, thats why they can do that. The first lady who does the voice of Aurora is an icelandic actress (imdb FTW) In order to add they need to rehire that lady so the voice matches, or they need to redo it all. So the voice matches. It's like in star trek, it would be completely strange to have the voice of a computer change randomly in an ep. With the sound on aurora says alot of stuff. "Requesting Docking permission" "Docking request... accepted" "You can not fire because you are cloaked" among a few. So think of it liek this, you get the computer voice this session go 'Requesting docking permission" then the next line is a different voice. it would be a little immersion breaking and odd. Thats why they don;t do it. And come on, if we heard they spent 10m or whatever to pay an actress to redo the eve voice people would flip. But a new game.. *shrugs*

I heard that Aurora (original voice CONNECTING....) isn't making a return, so I've heard over and over.

The ingame tutorial/help popups in CQ have an EXTREMELY ANNOYING LOUD voice. If they redid Aurora with Sackhoff's voice that would work way better. CCP should look into having her voice over EVE's Aurora, if her voice can be electronically mixed well to match our current.

I wonder why I can't dual wield in Halo CE, when I can do it on every other version of the game. I mean, it is Halo after all. Fix this CCP.

Let's see. One tutorial attempts to explain an amazingly complex game, with a multitude of play styles and activities, where you have to understand things like scanning, markets, standings, security zones, crimewatch, FW.....
The other explains how to aim your ship and squeeze a trigger.
Which one do you think will need more updating?

IMO, the voice-over in homeworld was perfect in both the tutorials and game. Do something like that.

As for Katee Sackhoff, +1 just due to overall hotness and BSG/Riddick.

The most reasonable thing to do would be using Windows SAM.

The voices can be adapted and sound realistic enough.

And seriously, voice in tutorials is nonsense.
Reading is far more efficient.

As per the OP. Not sure, they already have her on the payroll so redoing shouldn't be much of an issue. Guess upping her contract to do so, isn't worth the cost in CCPs eyes. I doubt its a coding issue, though with CCP you never know.
