Angel Extravaganza Bonus room

Hey all,

Last night I paid a visit to the Bonus room in the Angel Extravaganza mission.

I warped out pretty quick as a couple of those cruise missiles took my shields down to pretty much half way.

Do you guys run this room for the extra ISK and loot?

What do you use normally?

I guessing getting my tank skills higher and improving my modules to tech 2 or higher would allow me to survive longer.

Does any of you guys have any tips for this room?

Except for take out the cruise batteries of course, Big smile

Thanks in advance.

Kill the towers first, have a good level of tank and/or bring a friend.

As a very rough guide, if it takes you more than 25 minutes to get to the bonus room from the first one, you're probably ill equipped to handle it (stupid, hero mad tank super low DPS fits aside).

Timings may be slightly off as it's been a while for me.

In a vargur I can just tank the room up close.

I haven't really done this on a low sp toon, but would imagine that using long range weps, killing the cruise towers, then jumping via MJD would work.

Also, the low SP ppl these days can use mobile depots. If anything plant one of these in room V and refit some long range weps / additional tank (cruise towers deal EM dmg)

Raven Navy Issue with 3 hardeners (I use 1 omni, 1 kinetic, 1 explosive), a medium B-Type shield booster, and a T2 shield boost amp.

Burn away in the opposite direction of the towers after you land because the closer the rats come the more damage they do. Take out the towers first, then any of the ships target painting you. It's safe to have your drones out, they won't be targeted. Leave the Seraphim til last or you'll spawn in extra battleships.

With low tank there is not much to think about, missiles hurt, i was successfull once jumping away past the cruise range (~150km) then tanking the sentrys and incoming missiles from ships until i managed to snipe them.

Tricky , but doable, still probably better to invest in tank skills and mods or skip altogether :)

what I do is basically immediately as I land fly on the opposite way from the towers then along the way I kill the frigs and small ships. from there I kill the bigger ones.

You need a good tank and/or the ability to kill off towers and rats quickly. Also, do not sit still! Keeping your ship in motion decreases damage, as a moving target is harder to hit. Kill any webbing/target painting rats quickly.

The last few times I ran it the dropped loot wasn't worth the time or cost. Salvage was meh... I don't even bother running it anymore. The days of AE4 being the Holy Grail of mission running is long since over.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'll skip the room for now on until my tank is at something like 95% maxed out.

By then I should have something like a Tengu or a Golem to run Lvl 4's with ease.

Thanks again for the replies.

Don't mean to hijack this post but I don't feel this needs me to make a separate thread. What are the new go-to money missions these days? I only ask as I am returning and know a few before hand would be greatly helpful. The only one so far that I have noticed is Gone Berserk is great with its ~20mill in loot

Worlds Collide, the blockade, Angel Extravaganza and Smash the Supplier are all pretty decent for bounties.

Loot wise is all down to the local market.

Well that's how I see it.

Don't know if I'm wrong.

So I suddenly feel like I am the only one left doing 'The Assault' and not blitzing it, for the nearly 30mil in bounties. Probably not ISK/hr efficient if you don't have some high end skills and range, but for me it's done in under a tick so a good mission IMO.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

Yep, pretty much this. Also generally with the above CNR mentioned. I tend to get worlds collide a lot for some reason, a good mission.

I'm in it for the money

I've not run the Assault yet, or I propably have and just forgotten about it.

Smash the supplier does give good tags in the loot, which replaces the bounties, it's been a while since I ran that mission.

Just be careful as Smash the Supplier will take down your standing towards the faction in the mission.

Hi

I do the bonus room, and as you see I am a fairly new player, so low SP, and half of all the gear on my ships is T1, not T2, and of course I can't afford to use faction ammo or anything like that yet. Lvl 4 Angel Extravaganza can get fairly challenging for me, takes a lot of concentration.

I do not do these fast, obviously that is impossible for me, but it works and I can complete it fairly reliably as follows:

1. Realize that the bonus room damage types are different from the rest of the mission, check eve-survival guide for it, it tells you which specific damage types the bonus room NPCs do.

2. After completing last room just before the bonus, I dock up to unload loot and refit for the bonus room.

3. When I refit for bonus room, I remove most of my DPS mods, put in place double hardeners and more cap regen and MWD instead of MJD. Must maintain at minimum 3 minutes of cap with all tank mods, applicable reps (shield or armor), MWD + weapons on. Also, go long range, forget doing max DPS.

4. Warp back in, take out the batteries and any frigs webbing me. I do not care for the single point scram as it does not affect MWD and the NPCs do not use the double point.

5. GTFO to safe distance once webs are down using the MWD and kite, kite, kite. Alternatively, you can GTFO to beyond scram range, dock up again refit again and get back in to kill whats left.

Its definitely not time efficient, but it works with low skills and low cost ships and equipment. I typically use a drake / raven on this character, rail Brutix or Domi on my other character, both same age, both low skill.

One tip FYI, if you use a kiting long range rail boat bring LOTS of ammo. I used over 14000 rounds on my Brutix once for the entire mission and structures at the end.

When Kiting, use angles, so that you end up being in range of no more then 2-3 NPCs but can still shoot the closest. This helps a great deal with tank. This is why I scale down to Battlecruisers instead of Battleships, and of course movement speed.

I don't blitz missions except the "kill this structure" type thing... I like the bounties, salvage, and loot. isk/hr is completely irrelevent to me (I can make REAL money coding on one screen while playing Eve on another).

I only mission in amarr space, and there, the highest paying L4 mission by far, is Enemies Abound. Its 5 parts, 3 against gallente, 1 courier, and 1 against minmatar. It drops a LOT of gallente and minmatar tags, and a full clear, looting, and selling the tags at amarr or jita, averages me 150-200mil for the mission total.

If you can catch Scarlet before she warps off to the final room and get the implant (I have never managed it) then Dread Pirate Scarlet is good for 30 mill bounties and a 20 mill implant.

Unlike other implant drops (such as Zor who almost always drops rubbish but at random will drop a 35 mill implant) the Scarlet implant is apparently consistently a good one.

Another alternative is to run 0.5 security SOE IVs and choose the blitzable ones and make your ISK from the LP.
