I cant stand the rust colored textures.

Cant you come up with something better for Minmatar, CCP?

Stations are depressing as hell.

The rust is a large, beloved actually, part of the minmatar identity.

Got to trust in the rust.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

CCP is moving the Minny textures from rust to a more finished look.

It was only a matter of time before the Minmatar scientists discovered corrosion resistant compounds and learned to apply them.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Actually minmatar starship engineers are very clever, seeing as they have managed to find a way to make metal rust in space.

Ironically, few things are more oxidization resistant than a nice, thin layer of corrosion. There's a building right down the street from me whose metal paneling is deliberately rusted on that very principle.

The visual difference would be that the corrosion-as-finish is incredibly even and unchanging, whereas unintended corrosion is pock-marked and uneven, and it eats away preferentially at edges.

Always seems appropriate to blast Immigrant Song on my headphones while YOLO in my Rifter. I rather like the rust theme but you're right.. I don't find the solar panels particularly appealing.

What would you suggest the Minnie theme should be?

I do love love love the Minnie drone that looks like a fat little bee.

If you spray clear coat over rust, it makes it shiny.

It should still look like it's make-shift technology from a down and out race, but not rusty. Maybe more of a mottled pale grey caldari-ish theme.

As for the solar panels, small glowing nuclear reactors spewing out heat every so often (like the smoke stacks) would be interesting.

yeah, must admit I had always seen my Tiffie as the space equivalent of a Rat Rod

If deliberately rusting a classic car and preserving the "patina" with lacquer is a thing why not Rat Rod space craft as well :D
