The more I play EVE, and the more I see the emotional connection that my corpies have to 100% player generated content, I am convinced that there is no other game like EVE.

You can keep the graphics and the so-called visual immersion.

EVE is emotionally immersive and addictive.

Besides me always having liked the idea of WiS,
I don't really think we need more of these folks.
*coughIGS*coughTheSummitcoughcough*

RP in this game is mostly ridiculous.

Lol well I gotta agree with that first bit. Although honestly the avatar creator here is difficult to master. I love my avatars and enjoy updating them, but it takes me hours sometimes to make one that looks half-decent. I can imagine people less avatar-inclined simply don't give that much of a **** about it and so leave themselves with a kinda mediocre appearence. But that's cool, EVE for me has always been about enjoying what you find fun as an individual and I try not to dump on other people's gameplay style choices just because it's not what I get my personal kicks from.

WiS would be cool just for the immersion factor imo, but would be even more cool if there was some actual practical gameplay that revolved around it.

Roleplay is pretty much the same anywhere. It's just creative writing, acting, but via text. The game simply provides a framework for the RP, and here in EVE we have a pretty awesome framework with well-written lore and an environment ingame that's already really immersive. I do totally agree that the IGS is very lacking sometimes. I enjoy posting there a little, mostly to stir the pot a bit or try and inspire a chuckle for people, as it does tend to be very droll, stale discussions most times about politics, religion etc, and the RP community tends to be somewhat cliquey. So I enjoy playing a character who hates all those things and enjoys living in isolation from these "Empire weirdos".

I have two mini slave girls(alts) that I "freed" but still hang around (you free them once and never hear the end of it) who I sometimes like to abuse in local. Sometimes it gets a rise out of someone.
Good fun.

I kinda have the same sort of thing going.

I have one who's a former slave that Erica freed, but who sticks around out of loyalty anyway, and another who was a homeless person until I found 'em and sponsored them through the capsuleer program. Likewise I often enjoy abusing them, especially when they make a bad coffee or don't wax Erica's bikini line properly.

Think along the lines of "reek" from game of thrones for this one.
Soo badly messed up she took on the last name ( that one really gets mini players going if they twig it ). Love the character creator, I'm always at least an hour in it.

That's CCP for you... they could have had the totally immersive scifie experience SC is trying to be for years ago, alas, they didn't go there... why? Who knows? They known for making mind boggling design and business desitions - I mean: The Nex shop, cancel WiS, make DUST console only, buy White Wolf and then cancel WoD - and they got bunred numerous times for it... that's kinda what they do...

They are that crazy Islandish kid on the playground that is the games industry, and the other kids don't really care. Blink

Hello sweety. Well I think you're quite the cutey and I can see beneath that bloodied and beaten facade a proud young Matari woman resides. Don't let that big meany Ralph and his abuse get you down. I'm sure he's not that bad a guy really. Afterall I remember when he and his friend jumped smart-bombing battleships into Jita at the Perimeter gate for everyone's amusement. Other than that guy who tried looting wrecks in his Orca, those battleship kills were the most amusing moments I had during BJ - day one. Please pass on my thanks for his honorable sacrifice.

Anyway, yeah Big smile I think my corpmates began noticing me spending too much time playing space barbie in station recently, took me 3 solid days of game time to get Erica's current portrait to my satisfaction.

don't encourage her, we are at a delicate point in the training.
that first one netted me a whole probe, i got too giddy and set it off a little early.
i got a good laugh out of it so it was well worth it.

Eve is about space battles, station barbies comes secondary, eventually we'll get there I bet but how long will it take for SC to have the kind of complex and amazing space battles that we've seen here in Eve? I mean look at the massive massive fleet battles that have occurred and all the epic dangles players have performed like look at the things he did in Garmonation 9 with the Adrestria, you won't see **** like that in most games man.

The coolest thing about Star Citizen is the manual flying style and the G-forces that affect your ship's movement and what not. I'm honestly looking forward to playing this game but I will never leave Eve. They're just way different I don't even know why people like to try comparing them.
