Eve is developed by a Filthy rich company CCP,

Star Citizen is developed by a guy with a team who gets paid by donations; theyve collected $43 million, not bad, but good MMOs at times cost hundreds of millions to develop

Yet Star Citizen gets in-game immersion Eve players only dream about; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bs9H6uUwEM

And all we get is bi-annual Patchspansions ,

Theres no justice in the world CryCryCry

Interpret this as you wish, but in my opinion...

That trailer made the game look boring as hell, something I would probably drop before even un-docking.

Disclaimer: I care nothing for immersion and WiS.

You're free to quit and switch to the lesser games.

I see a room with a door that won't open, a bunch of ships that can't fly and some very strong worded promises that have yet to be delivered.

Combine that with a Mickey Mouse death penalty, consensual PVP only (flags and zones), instancing and no territory game..

mmmyea.. don't hold your breath.

the fan boy is strong with this one.

Yeah he's a pauper all right

Also, usiing KS as an income is against KS rules

Against my better judgement and troll spidey sense, this thread has been moved to Out of Pod Experience. Make the most of it.

While I'm not going to jump into the actual argument, something to consider: what do developers spend time and money on that is not sweet models, textures, and animations?

As with everything nowadays,
it's effective to go for the lowest hanging fruits.

When there is something to do aside from spinning a ship in a hanger (which I can, strangely enough, do in eve). I might take Star Citizen more seriously.

I advise that you look at the track record of the CEO of the company. He has a habit of collecting huge amounts of cash and under-delivering on content.

I hope it ends up being awesome, but I'm not holding my breath.

And why do you feel like CCP is some vast evil empire? It's a relatively small company compared to many of their competitors.

Sure you do, for immersion at least.

You just enjoy limiting it to feeling immersed in the environment - space and the ship you fly within it, whereas some others enjoy taking the immersion a little deeper. Many of those people are proponents of WiS.

Also, isn't there already a SC vs EVE thread up in 'ere somewhere? P

How can a non-existant game be immersive?

edit: also, please define "filthy rich."

I do not like the men on this spaceship. They are uncouth and fail to appreciate my better qualities. I have something of value to contribute to this mission if only they would realize it. - Bill Frug

If only so many of these people wouldn't make avatars
that look like lifeless dolls,
and RP about crap that makes no sense.

Besides me always having liked the idea of WiS,
I don't really think we need more of these folks.

RP in this game is mostly ridiculous.
