I do however support being able to switch clones in wspace, so that you can change from a capital clone to a subcap to a blank one for null roams, etc.

This is very similar to a proposal I put together almost a year ago here: (link from sig). Some things have been partly implement, or implemented to differing degrees.

But the basic idea is to increase the functionality of JC mechanics as it relates to the realities of typical wh/0.0 combat mentalities (i.e. pod all the things) with respect to time, implant concerns based on comp or environment effects.

Perhaps take a punt on Rorqual second hand prices dropping so low you make money reprocessing them.

The rorqual should have more going for it than a clone vat bay. IN WH space it is worthless with the new changes. It is that way now unless you really want to mine which I have found is basically suicide with the current set of rules.

Otherwise the new rules have some merit provided that one of CCPs stated cornerstones is actually implemented across the board: that skills matter! there should be no refining without skill coming into consideration no matter where you are located.

So of course I see this a couple months after I go to the trouble of building a Rorqual inside my C3. /Sigh.

That aside though, a Rorq only holds 6 clones, correct? It doesn't seem to me that would make a huge difference in eviction situations other than it taking slightly longer. I would find it helpful to wake up in the Rorq after I got podded doing something stupid. Yes I freely admit the only time I get blowed up n my own WH is when I do something dumb..:)

Being able to jump from hisec in to the WH would be awesomesauce, but I see the problems with that, so I won't be holding my breath. I'm guessing it would be possible to make it so only the Rorq clones would be usable for respawning inside your own system rather than the larger vat bays of other capitals?

But..... what other buff to a rather expensive ship could possibly make it worth having, aside from that?

Perhaps making it a superior buff ship than an Orca while NOT burning fuel? Say at... max skills for it?

Maybe that's just silly. Will follow the thread for reasons why the above is a bad idea.

Wormholes aren't just some other area of k space. Not being able to clone jump in and out is one of the many reasons wormhole space is different and should remain so.

If you were at the last fanfest wormhole round table you would have heard similar ideas put forward. And heard them very loudly quashed by the massive majority of players (and CCP) who are strongly against being able to clone jump in wormhole space.

In short, it's never going to happen.

the best boost rorq for wh space: allow clone vat work in w-space.

Yes and Yes

But should only be able to Jump to clone if the Rorq/Clone vat is piloted/online or Jump to the Clone vat after podded but again only if it's piloted/online

Disagree with all clone vat ideas, same system respawn is borderline ok, but part of the satisfaction of podding someone in w-space is knowing you just sent their ass to hisec!

However, with the new POS mods, refining and compression, the rorqual has absolutely no function, except for escalations (yes I have seen it used), where it provides shield boosting with no additional spawn, so CCP should be made aware the rorqual needs some love, at least in w-space

Rorqual refine @ 100% with perfect skills, anyone?

I think same-system jump-cloning is a good idea, other-system jump-cloning is on the iffy side, and med-cloning is right out...

Increase ore bay *10 + reduce mass to orca size + allow clone switching in system.

There fixed.

one more thing to note, the cycle time on the refining arrays is dropping, from 3 hours to 10 seconds. That alone is a huge boost

I also think same system respawn has the potential to do bad things to WHs. Part of the reason why evictions even work is that you can pod people out of the hole.

How about just pure and simple 'spare clones' in wh space for rorqs(or a WH specific Mobile structure/pos mod)? Merely the ability to switch out clones (implants) in WH space?

This will allow us to use shiny and expensive clones when escalating (and also allow hostiles to get some nice pod kills if caught) but also allow more pvp as people will be a lot more free to lose their pods knowing they are in a cheaper pod. Also allows switching to custom pods for specific ships (Logi, Prot, Tengu, etc.)

Encourages use of more implants, more freedom to PvP and makes life better for WH peeps without effecting anyone else.

Yeah clone jumping in WH space you can stick that up your ass FFS.

Now being able to clone swap between sets of clones and not leave or enter the WH via it i am all for.
