All I ever wanted to do was play space poker, space blackjack, space horse-racing and space craps while watching space boxing on the space big screens... is it so much to ask? Roll

I've been told I'm somewhat famous, no idea why...

Voyeurism is a thriving business on the intarwebs. If all you want to do is watch there are plenty of video streams out there that won't cost you $15 US$ per month.

I've profited from many decent ships left floating inside POS bubbles after the shields went down from no fuel. P To this day when I'm bored I still go on long roams with my two oldest alts in search of unattended goodies ready for the scoopage. Twisted

Been playing since 04, and I really have felt that canning WiS was a mistake. I think it needs to be addressed. But meh. So the 'WiS fetish people have not played eve before incarnia' is a lie. 10 years playing, so aprx what 7 years before incarnia I started?

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

Isn't there a dev with a similar icelandic sounding first name?

Try walking around OUTSIDE. Shocked

Then when you are done with that healthy habit, you can come fly internet spaceships.

There is no outside, it's all a lie, and anyway it don't look safe...

Since everything you need to do at stations can be done from the menu's, WiS doesn't add any functionality and would probably go as unused as ship interiors are in STO (which is never). It would be a waste of developer resources... What I want to know is if no-one will ever see me as my avatar, why can't I walk around my quarters in my undies.

God, no wonder you are a goon, you must fit in really well.

In Ancient Greek there was a state of mind known as hubris, this was followed, inevitably, by nemesis.

What has this to do with WiS?

What has this to do with WiS?

The people I've heard advocate for WiS also seem to believe that it will bring about the end of the Goons, as well.

WiS is more of a religion than a game feature at this point.

Just a comment on the attitude of certain sections of the EVE community.

Anything or anyone that does not conform to their views on how EVE should be played or developed meets with distain, a sense of rectitude and the apparent belief that there is only "one true way".

Fundamentalists and zealots are a corrosive force in any community.

Tolerance and the willingness to see the other person's point of view may be hard for some, but that does not mean that we should not at least try to accept that there will always be more than one way of looking at something.

Trite and banal as these sentiments are, they should still be something that we all try to apply.

For what it's worth, I'd like to see WiS but do take on board the fears that have been expressed that the game itself could be damaged if it is not done with due regard to the potential pitfalls.

Yeah, I'm full of cliches today, but I'm tired and feeling a bit lazy.

If by getting getting the job done you mean protecting their own interests and vehemently shutting down any idea that would affect their playstyle then I agree. Fundamentalists and zealots are a force against change, not for it.

I over-generalised. My comments were aimed at my perceived opinion of those sorts of people within EVE. I freely admit that I maybe wrong about that and are happy to be educated otherwise Smile

Assign former WoD staffs to WIS project, then we can have best of both worlds, vampires walking in space stations.
