Yep, we have crews, according to lore nearly all of them survive catastrophic ship loss, depending on ship size. Crew have escape pods that do not show on the overview as they are tactically unimportant, not like a capsular pod.

edit: yes we are suspended in goo filled pods with a vr hookup via the spinal/neural implants that streams our thoughts into orders the crew can understand, on larger ships that may involve holographic projections and audio, visual feeds etc. It's safe to assume that projected images are what is seen in ccps latest trailers etc, though personally I find the cinematic style trailers abhorrent, rather un-eve.

... my ships are full of zombies... the blinking lights get them agitated, a rabid frenzy you might say, so they are lots of fun when I dock in Jita and let them loose with the rest of the zombies... Roll

There was once a piece of lore/fiction that was written, i think it was in one of the first eveon's, pretty much you have a crew but they are forced to do your bidding. When you think 'fire my rocks into hat titan' the ships crew might be thinking 'we are going to die' but they can not do anything but follow the orders given by the pod pilot. My guess is crew's are a special job, where you get a lot of space bucks for **** work.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

It's not that they're forced to do your bidding, it's just that they took the job so they have to follow orders. And no, it doesn't pay a lot of space bucks (aka isk). There are a lot of normal people that need the job so take the risk of crewing a capsuleer's ship. And capsuleers don't care much about their lives which is one of the main reasons why capsuleers are reviled by normal people.

The ships have crew. View new eden crew guidelines in wiki.

We need a "crews quarters" on the ships where we have to stock gunners and shield techs and armor techs and all that fancy stuff in order to be able to undock and use

a leveling system would be nice

say your crew keeps surviving pvp encounters you get .00000001% for that crew mate

or whatever.

A corpmate recently filled his ship with Exotic Dancers. More recently, he discovered that he cannot find said ship anywhere. He's looked high and low, went through his Assets with a fine toothed comb, checked every single POS we own, every hangar, to no avail.

We can only assume that these Exotic Dancers stole his ship and took it to Vegas for the weekend, wrecked it, and skipped town before my fellow capsuleer figured it all out.

Moral of the story? Don't trust your ship with strippers.

Glowing things on ships can be other stuff than windows illuminated by people being irresponsible about energy consumption. They could be heat sinks dissipating excess heat as radiation.
