30 seconds, srsly CCP?

Why even have it scripted anymore?

EDIT: CCP Explorer explained that this was done for server performance reasons.

Doesn't hold a candle to yours though.

No post ever will.

They should have it engraved upon the monument in Iceland.

meh ... I script to avoid stacking penalties, never change them on the fly.

though TBH I fly a Domi when using drones so omni matters less

Isn't 30 seconds also the reload time on RHML ? maybe the new server tick is 30 seconds Shocked

They tripled the cycle time of Omnidirectional Tracking Links, 30 seconds is long enough to prevent swapping scripts in combat. Now I'd like to know if the already nerfed Omnis were so overpowered that they had to be made even worse.

Ooh. ⅓ the capacitor draw. Now there's a nerf that really kicks people in the 'nads. Wait what?

There are no fits where the absolutely neglible cap draw of an Omni makes any kind of difference whatsoever

Triple cycle time means 1/3 cap usage.

Cheer up!

I wish there was some way to make isk out of duplicate ship toasts

Minor nerf if they're actively swapping scripts. It'll be damn annoying to wait 30sec before you can swap.
Cap draw isn't an issue for omnis.

i guess this is more serious to ships that only use one instead of 3 omnis, because on those with 3, you will be using the same scripts most of the time any way.

so i'll take that less cap draw, thank you.

Yep, you see, omnidirectional links that work like other tracking computers use cap. New players have poor cap skills. Most new players also play in high sec, therefor Omnis using cap is a DIRECT nerf to high sec.

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to practice my Dinsdalian logic. Twisted
Thats OK

30 seconds? Well that's just silly.
As if the previous nerf was not bad enough.

TBH the capacitor draw was a zero issue prior to the nerf. This is more like a poor aatempt at a appology from CCP to say yea we know your taking up the poop shute but hey look we cut the cap use in half.

This change will certainly stop me from swapping scripts mid fight. Its like they are trying to kill drone play.

CCP hates high sec.
Pretty simple answer.
Just look at the total set of changes being inflicted on high sec.
They demonstrate the contempt CCP has for the largest segment of its player base (soon to not be its largest segment).

Rubicon was very aptly named.

Yes, how awful that they made a change that only affects modules used in highsec and nowhere else.

Wait, what (again)?

You mean those two highsec-specific changes that will make life there a whole lot easier? Or are you just massively overestimating how many people use omnilinks?
