Hello all forum dwellers and passing byers.

I just want to inform you all that I'm gonna take a break from EVE soon™ and go play SWTOR.
Pre-ordered the Collector's Edition and will enjoy taking part of (my first) the game launch.

Well I've been around in EVE for about 3 years with 4 active accounts at the most.
I'm a solo/lonewolf type of player in EVE universe and don't make much noise, except here on the forums, where you might have seen me troll, rant or even said something intelligible on occation..

Anyway I still have months of time on my accounts so I'll be around.

See you all and have a Merry Christmas!


PS: Damn you CCP for making Crucible so awesome and my choice harder to make.

Also having experienced SWOTOR during the mass tests I can honestly say it is the best single player star wars game I ever played (apart from knights of the old republic).

Did the mass-tests, and as a lifelong SW fan (I want to go for my full MechEng Master's degree--from Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma at present--because, even at damn near age 40, I still daydream of parking an X-Wing fighter in my drive, and I want to design/build the RL equivalent!) it truly pains me to say it, but...

It's not bad, for sure, but there are a great many games like it, all based off the exact same paradigm.

I'm happy to say that I've been spoiled by EVE.

And yes, as far as single-player/instanced content goes KotR was much better.

EDIT: In all fairness, though, nothing--And I mean nothing!--no matter how superb in quality and implementation could possibly live up to this level of hype...Not least of all when/because a lot of said hype is generated by the product's intended audience itselfRoll

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

You may be able to stay there till the summer, but we we both know that you shall be back eventually. Specially now because CCP is liking spaceships more than vampires again ;)

Anyway have a nice time during your "break". Most people need one now and then.

Have fun. The crew based harvesting system looked interesting and I saw a trailer where a Sith was making field golas with Ewoks that made me laugh but beyond that I didn't see $60-$150 worth of content. To each his own though, I leave in the spring for Tera Online assuming they don't take all the pixel bewbies out of it and make it in to an Aion clone.
