Hmmmmm......

Never knew there was a newsletter.

Guess I should look into that so I can give real feedback.

Be nice to have a section addressing current technical problems and progress towards resolution of EVE-wide issues.

Maybe something i didn't know before it was sent to me, because there was nothing new there. Exclusive content is nice.

Some more news or other content would be nice, most of the newsletters lately seem rather empty with only 2 or 3 informational segments and everything else being filler.
Feels like a waste of bits and bytes in my mailbox right now :(

Considering that the 100th newsletter has already been sent now, I guess CCP might take this on for future, though it seems a bit general to provide much help.

The link back to the 1st newsletter was good, because it's not something I would go looking for. It provided a huge contrast between what the Newsletter used to be and what it is now. Full of content early on that has largely been replaced by the devblogs.

Based on the content of the 100th edition, aside from getting EvE in the mind of former subscribers who receive it, it's hard to see what the purpose of the newsletter is at all anymore.

For current subscribers, everything in it is more readily advertised in the launcher.

If you're not receiving the Newsletters, but want to receive them, please file a ticket either from in game or from our website under 'Billing & Account / Promotional Offers, Programs & Gifts' category and we'll investigate the cause why you're not receiving the Newsletters.

Confirming this worked for me, and just got the April newsletter this morning.

As Scipio says, apart from the link to the first newsletter, there really wasn't anything that I didn't already know about from the launcher or the existing RSS news feeds, even though it is a nicely packaged summary of those things, all in one place.

But you need to advertise it better - short of logging a support ticket for it, I still can't see how to sign up for the damn thing. How many new subscribers have you had recently? How do people find out about it? For a monthly newsletter, it seems to have a really low profile.

This signature intentionally left blank for you to fill in at your leisure.

I try to get the major devblogs into each issue, so what I can do in addition is watch the forums and other channels for news that might go otherwise unnoticed.

I'll also make a note to start including links to CCP Phantom's 'This Week in EVE' posts, too. Here's his latest:

..news that might go otherwise unnoticed.. that's what I was looking for!
Player Made Content War Room please! And thank you!

As a 4 month Newbie to EVE Online \o/ and after the tutorial missions, LvL1 missions & SOE arc, as a PVP player I have fulfilled all the minimum PvE gaming requirement I am going to do. Period.
At that point, if there is nothing found other than just being re-ganked, the biggest impression is that the game is done for me as a PvPer other than sit and skill up & re-fit ships, for months until I can be viable, but it doesn't need to happen that way.

There is some player-made content going on, if only it was easier to find. I just make content myself: FUNDANGER (Fleets), because the other player content is only found by pure accident and hours reading forums and out of game sites etc. We want to rock n roll, right out of the SOV arc without just being corpalliancebittervet cannon fodder Evil at least until we gain some insight Pirate

Getting the word out about Pilot-Made Content is news that might go otherwise unnoticed, I think it would be great to see in the issues.
Thanks Smile

dev hacks a story on how devs do stuff.

treasure hunting feature, (newbs love getting free stuff )

OK, it seems like stats are a biggie, so I will make it a priority to get that back into the newsletter ASAP.

Spotlighting a thread is something we had tried once and it wasn't well received, but I\m willing to give that a go again. Will watch the forum for noteworthy 'splosions.

CSM Updates... YES. Going to make a point to touch base with the CSM each month to get information and relevant links from them in order to create more awareness of the awesome stuff they do. Further down the road, I'm going to also make a point to highlight the elections more across the board - newsletter, launcher, website banners, etc.

If any of you are in Iceland for Fanfest and have other ideas, suggestions or feedback, definitely touch base with me and we'll grab a few pints and chat. O7

So by no response to my suggestion to finding player made content I assume the Newsletter is only past-tense, "large" dry news we can't actually act on?

I found a forum "In-Game Events and Gatherings"... and I supposed player made content goes there. But not in the newsletter. Mosh pit style. Got it. Leave game, search forums .... got it. Roll well that was fail. How about at least a link to that, unless there is a better location, in or out of game?

Lots of us do get the Newsletter into our email and haven't quite yet delegated it to spam.... and links to follow are something.

What are the plans for Incarna?

You keep saying first you want to work on the core game. Well;

Been there
Done that
Got the t-shirt
Now we are into the reruns.

It's been two years. It's time to move on from this oft repeated stalemate of "core game first" and think about finishing what you started. Tell us what your plans are.

I missed your post earlier, and for that I apologize.

Cool player-created content is something I am always interested in hearing about for the newsletter, which is why each newsletter ends with a request for such content and an email address to send it to. This past newsletter was the first without that section as it was replaced with the section leading people to this thread.

Oh, I was too hasty! Thank you for this reply!

I will use your information to share with others who create content, as we are all frustrated in trying to let (especially newer) pilots know about the fun and prizes they can have .. we are willing to put up this time and ISK, so expect a few emails from time to time Smile
