Yesterday this forum had 11 locked posts on the same page at the same time, by the same forum moderator.

I don't usually like those sorts of forums because it means either the moderation is questionable or the posting is.

Either way it's a great way to stifle conversation.

And this comment will probably be moderated because it's discussing moderation.

And so the cycle of refinement continues until you only end up with a handful of regular posters and their alternates always saying the same things to each other.

Forums are a social network, just like MMO games are.

Unfortunately we seem to have an innate need to form cliques, so that we belong, and the other is the enemy.

I'd prefer a style more reminiscent of a coffee house buzzing with chat, but obviously that cannot be done on the forums of the game, because they have various PR concerns that require limiting chat.

Whoa, so it turns out, that when you have people aggressively stifling any conversation they don't like for *sticks hand in hat* any reason at all *pulls out rabbit and losing lottery ticket*, the forums might die.

My suggestion is to file petitions against ~*peers into pensieve*~ some sort of mysterious group of people. How boring

*wanders off to snip articles out of a magazine*

Since these forums are pretty dead, maybe I'll go and become a bouncer for a club so I can sit at the door and refuse to let interesting people through, probably based on a set of obtuse, catch-all rules I can use to deny absolutely anyone I want at any time.

I'll probably order some icedtea on my break, I don't drink alcohol as it tends to get in the way of me being a stupendous turd.

GD is a CessPit of propaganda, innuendo and just plain BS which drowns out the occasional good post.
