Preface
With each winter release, Eve has been turning a new chapter. Each one of those chapters had a profound effect on the game and its player base, yet one should realize the impact each patch makes on the CCP's wallet and how THAT determines the future of the game more than anything said here.

In the jungle the mighty jungle..
CSM is a jungle, different people with different opinions, made up of the chosen from the player base. This jungle however was to be united under Mittani's banner, in order to get the most votes out towards something reasonable and good for the player base. And this peace between 0.0 and carebears did work for some time. The CCP's vision of the game became known and most of it didnt sit well, mostly because it didnt include CSM opinion what so ever unless asked directly by devs. Needless to say no one expected much from CSM, which is great, I dont have to lie about democracy or any of that crap, but our input was heard in the end, some of it taken to heart and some of it, well ignored. Still, better than the old days, where ignorance was bliss.

Patch Features
New battlecruisers Tier3:

Yey new ships everyone exclaimed in the CSM. The PVP members straight away started their calculations on the hitpoints, damage, speed etc. Comparing each ship, to make sure the product was well balanced against its counterparts. Everyone picked their favorite one as well, I picked Talos ofcourse. xDeath and I discussed the future of 0.0 fleets and the impact those weak yet powerful new battlecruisers will make on the fleet warfare as well as small roaming. I have to say am very excited about it, so if you see my test fleet around, beware!

Graphical changes:

Those were greeted with absolute support, to me this game looked awesome since the Trinity patch and anything extra just makes it all so more wonderful. And yes, yey for engine trails. V3 will keep getting better and better as the Art devs keep making more new models for objects.

Time Dilation:

Has to be the main feature am looking forward to. As frequent participants in large scale warfare, xDeath and myself have been trying to help Team Gridlock as much as we could, from calling him over to collect data from our fights, to giving our supers for mass testing on Singularity. I would also like to thank here everyone who have helped with this, NC for blobbing the hell out of us especially _b RIP. The tears of thousands of pilots who were helplessly watching their black screens or stuck modules, will be avenged.

Customs offices:

When I saw this, I said "Hell no, no more extra structures to grind". Obviously this has been decided at the BBQ2010, before CCP could understand what structure grinding is. I guess this also gives targets to the most boring part of this community, thats right, afking, solo roaming, bombers. They will have something to chew one with their torps now besides offline towers. For the market it gives yet another structure to build, which translates into another trade-able item and cue in market manipulations here.

More Tech2 stuff:

Ever since the first tech2 stuff was released ( to BoB mostly, tehe ) there was indeed a lack of those and inventing them would require an entire corp worth of alts to do. I have been there and its annoying, not to mention the chances of all of them failing. Now with them dropping from NPC, this should reduce prices and probably put some of the t2 manufacturers out of business (sorry guys).

Hybrids:

As promised by many CSM members during their election campaigns, we did it. Bring out your megathrones and lets celebrate their glory. As to the other races, dont complain, this patch is bringing Hybrids to the level of the other weapons. I have to say this took CCP too long to re-balance, definitely the longest re-balancing feature.

Loot:

Everyone wanted more, so you get more. I guess this should help with the rising prices of Plex

Ship spinning:

When CQ was deployed and I logged in to turn it off, to my amazement there was no ship spinning anymore. I banged on CCP's wall, begging for justice. Sure enough it was brought back, even earlier than the expansion itself. Ship spinning all day long, while I sing this song...

I think from here on I will just mention the few big innovations seeing as this post might go on for a while.

Killmails ++:

Double plus for more accurate killmails and pod killmails. Thought you could tell if the pilot had a slave? You dont have to look, but read the killmail.

UI changes:

the UI team did good by inviting Atlanta devs to help, this way they have done more and brought in a lot of cool tweaks to make Eve client feel better.

POS stuff:

I think I wrote a few pages on those, slowly but steadily those annoying structures are getting redone. The annoying thing you may find is that its faster to deploy new mods like weapons, than repair them, so that should get abused fairly right away. Stock up on pos modules then!

Supers:

Nerf supers because community doesnt know how to deal with them, wasnt a good reasoning behind this, xDeath and I provided different scenarios of the changes that would add more strategy orientated gameplay to a fight involving supers, just like when having a titan that wasnt in a watchlist could change the course of the battle back in the days. Those great ideas perhaps will see the light of day some time, this patch isnt the end of supers, but definitely a set back for the end game players.

Timers changed:

Those are great, with exception of the aggression timer change. Now before you think of me as being butthurt (and many of you always think like that), think of it from your perspective, from a perspective of someone who got a genuine connection problem and was disconnected during a fight, can happen to anyone and even time dilation is no rescue for someone stuck in an infinite aggression timer.

The percentage of people abusing this is in fact lower than your average disconnecting John Dow. And yet this change came despite the fact that this was based on minority that abused it.
In a different light, say you a player for a big alliance, part of a big coalition. You are in a laggy fight ( as thats what happens when there are no supers fighting anymore ), Time Dilation works, people die, come back in new ship, time keeps ticking, its time for you to go to bad and log off. Now before you would log off and who cares, it will disappear before anyone would probe you or bother finding you in that mess. Now however, you will lose your ship regardless, the enemy will make sure there are enough bubbles, covert ops will probe for any ship, if you in a capital, well 15m wont save you for sure, as expected this also came as a result of "how do we face a supercapital fleet?" The answer was very simple and many large alliances have used it for atleast half a year. As alternative to smartbombing battleships, there are bombers and with Time Dilation there is hope they will keep hitting their target, rather than the bombs swaying away into space. Bombs are highly effective against fighters or fighterbombers. Just as effective they are on titans, switch your bombs to Void and it renders titan useless. And seeing as they are mostly always bunched up, that makes bomber's wing duty even more so simple.

I for one welcome my bombing overlords, are you?

Summery

Avoiding the core problems, we are once again facing a quick solution to game mechanics, another patch in a colorful foil with something in store for everyone this Christmas, but instead of hope, it still bring doubts for players long invested into this game.
For CCP this is another attempt to win back players and invite new subscribers, something the existence of this game depends heavily on. This patch, with the help of my fellow CSM members, is a combined effort to keep this game moving forward, trying to forget the past and trying to catch the ghost of the future Eve Online.

PS: I wonder when the role players get something to chew on??

Yeah looking forward to the fun. There are rumors our ex nemesis' will return in a coalition to retake their land and what not. Cant wait :D

I spoke about Titans losing Doomsday power with a fellow Mintchip channel dweller and he couldnt understand why DD had to be nerfed, as he said "Its a DD, it should be that powerfull". I have used DD enough times to know that its not OP and you can miss it and you only carry enough fuel for atleast 7 and each one costs 50k Isotopes to fire ( check the market to see the cost ) and its only every 10minutes. And the funny thing is, the chances are, if you fire it, there is 50% chance you not gonna survive to the end of the 10m cooldown, so whats the beef?

Wow did you have a super blow up Tuesday afternoon or something? This is a lot of butthurt.

This is an obvious fix of an obvious exploit. I can't count the amount of times a Titan winked out of existence because we didn't kill it in 15 minutes.

Also if you get disconnected in a fight in a bubble, and you are in a subcap you are probably going to die before 15 minutes are up. Same as the old mechanics.

If you are in something that can survive for 15 minutes of being shot at while disconnected (The only kind of thing that would make you dissappear under the old mechanics). Then your ship will still be there in the minute or so it takes you to reboot your crashed client and get back in the game.

In order to be effected by the new logofski mechanics you need to be in a ship that can survive for 15 minutes while disconnected. It takes 1 maybe 2 minutes tops to recover your client from a crash caused by blob warfare lag.

No it isn't, it's astronomically higher. As you well know since you're a prominent exponent of the tactic.
