T3 Battleships would be sweet. That's probably more than wishful thinking at this point though...

Is one of the new ships a versatile shield tanked drone battleship to replace the Rattlesnake you've made a heavy/sentry only piece of shite?

as opposed to what? using medium drones on a rattlesnake instead?..

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

The ships each fall into one of three categories.

One category will be fairly low impact for most players but still represent cool addition(s) to the game that I think many players will enjoy seeing.
One category fill a void that we've wanted to cover for quite a while.
One category provides more advanced version(s) of one of the most popular ships classes in EVE.

my thoughts:

1st catagory:
Freighter designed for ships specifically? - has been asked about a bit.
Special edition ships? (like painted stuff if they count - Quafe edition as an example)

2nd catagory:
Caldari/Amarr Missile boat pirate faction?
'battleship' mining ship
covert hunter?

3rd catagory:
(technically covert hunter again)
destoryer (t2 or a 3rd tier), battlecrusier (T2), or battleships (t2)

I don't think there's any way we would see T3 Battleships before we see T3 Frigs and at least 1 more T2 Battleship. A couple more T2 BC's would probably come before that as well.
With that being said I'm hoping for a missile pirate line, a ship transporter/specialized racial hauler, and... I don't really know what else since revamped missile code hasn't been hinted at.

Why do T3 frigates have to come next? We had T3 cruisers first, and battleships have been on the losing end of most of the changes implemented over the past year. It's time for some battleship love, then battlecruisers - then we can look at frigates and destroyers.

Like the medium drones that get bonuses on.... every other battleship with a drone bonus? Roll

So evil... so very evil... the rumors you will create from these hints... priceless Lol
"One of the most popular" - so vague... I love it. Twisted

To throw in a twister since I did not spot it in all the other suggestions: More Society of Conscious Thought ships. Or a more advanced version of the Gnosis. Cool

Sounds very interesting, i hope you put it into the LP-Stores of some factions that don't allready have all the squishy things in it. Some could really need some help.

Because there is still room to fill gaps with new T2 ships rather than jumping straight to T3. At least in my mind, jumping to T3 kinda signals that you've got all the T2 ship roles filled. Not saying that's true but that's kinda the way it feels.

There could well be more than six.

Rhavas, since you're the guy who wrote up the three-witches post, I feel like you're smarter than this. For one thing, you've got at least 7 ships here there if you're expecting 4 new battleships.

Yeah, that's why I said there could be more than six. I'll admit I'm swinging for the fences here, but Falcon & Fozzie love to troll this sort of stuff out there, and I have fun biting on it (I'm sure it provides some good humor in the frozen north). But I've also seen CCP on more than one occasion "hint" one thing and then do another (example: There once was a ship contest to design "a ship" - in the end they picked four designs, which became the Tier 3/Attack BCs). I wouldn't put it past them to say "six" and then show six at Fanfest and the AT ships a couple weeks later, for instance.

Ranmar wrote:
If we take as given that the low-impact ships are the AT prizes, that gives us 4 ships left to work with. We know at least one of them is an advanced upgrade to a popular ship.

Now what I would of course love to see is one of several concepts I've been floating for years. Like a rework of the Primae to allow it to be a POS stealing and hauling ship. Or a ramming/boarding ship. Or a pure-play fitted ship "relocation hauler" (maybe a T2 Orca?)

Ranmar wrote:
I really don't think we're going to get more T3s of any sort until they figure out what they actually want to do with the existing T3s, which are very powerful but I'd say are still at least somewhat controversial. The only singleton ships out there that could get a T2 treatment are from ORE. I don't know how popular the Venture is, but we've found a T2 Venture model, and apparently even a name for it.

We have? That's new news to me. What's the name? You're probably right on the T3 stuff, but "all new" T2 ships as you say almost have to come from the ORE line - Ventures or Orcas do seem like likely candidates.

Ranmar wrote:
That just leaves the three witches. My money is still on Caldari/Minmatar missile pirates

While not as lore-appropriate, I can't say that's a bad guess. It's probably a more mechanics-likely guess but the names wouldn't make sense.

Long story short - the real power behind my Magic Crystal Ball is crowdsourcing. Usually the way it works is someone finds something. I dig and get about 30% of the reality. I post, and a pile of other people tell me what I missed. I re-theorize and re-post, and then we're at about 50%. A bunch of other people shoot holes in that. I end up about 60%-80% sure of things in the end. Right now we're right around 60% - I think the answers are in this thread.

But regardless, isn't the speculation fun? Lol

What I would love would be a combat probe CPU bonused T2 ship.

However. If we assume low impact is AT ships which have to be announced.
Then that leaves 4, meaning we can't get a racial variant of each as ''more advanced'
So the AT ships, T2 Venture, & new Pirate faction sounds most likely. Given they are revamping the existing pirate ships for summer this is the best time to introduce new pirate ships also.

Faction capitals and super capitals. Federation Navy Moros etc. And why not pirate faction?

Battleships that can use extra large weapons, like the tier 3 battle cruisers. Have battleships with the ability to combat super fleets.

Battleships with extra-large weapons would be great except for missiles, which would be a miniature Phoenix in the most horrendous ways. That or it would wind up being set of larger Tier 3 BC's by skipping missiles and focusing on more positive aspects.

Industry expansion needs a focus on industry ships.

Some new ORE hulls would be good but I'm always on the path for new Khanid Innovation ships and they are in dire need of a battleship
