Null sec changed when sovereignty was introduced. IIRC there weren't coalitions before it, and it has led to what we have today. When you consider that most of null is empty, the OP has a point. Something needs to be done to change this mechanic. Even one of the top goons (sorry I don't remember who or where he wrote it) stated the SOV mechanics led to the GFC, and their domination, and as a result, null is somewhat boring.

WHs are currently operating the way null would in an ideal situation. Nobody's really blue to anyone else, ppl show up, if there's targets they engage. Evictions happen because someone wants to occupy your space and set up base in it, not because they're trying to set up SOV in your constellation. There are cases were evictions happen because someone's decided to be a tool, but most of the time it's because someone else wants to live in the hole you're living in.

I'd be back in null if it was possible for a small alliance, or even corps to own a system without having to rely on being part of a greater coalition. I miss the days of the SOV map having many many colors.

You're young, you'll adjust. I'm old, I'll get used to it.

Though I would Love to see a some hero rally a crazed group of pvp'ers in a fight against the Null Blocs of Eden, the fact remains that until power projection is limited and Sov is fixed, its nearly impossible to withstand any long term war with a group that can replace capitals faster than you can destroy them. Besides, they really are not the bad guys, they are just the other guys.

Problem with sov mechanics is the way they favour capital- and especially super cap -blops and it's too late to change anything.
Other problem is simply size when other side has numbers in 10K's it doesn't really matter how you arrange the sov mechanics.
