I have made two contract ideas to forums earlier and recently I got idea of third contract idea.

Old idea: Fitted ships that are sold in contract system could have more clear interface so that you know how ship is fitted better.
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=331463&find=unread

Old idea: Contract could have outpost/station is inaccessible filter so we don't need to open these contracts and waste our time with them.
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=324493&find=unread

New idea: Repeat contract button. Lets assume I want to sell big packs of skill books. I have bought big pile of ten different skill books. I do ten split stacks so I can get one book of each type on hangar floor. Then I create contract and put sale price and other info there. Then contract is sold and I want to replace it with new contract. Then I have to go through all that trouble of splitting stacks and typing in contract data. If there was repeat contract button everything would be easier. I would search sold contract for these skillbooks and press repeat contract button. Then contract system automatically collects all necessary stuff from hangar floor and inputs all data and then it asks if I accept this new contract. If there is no necessary stuff on hangar floor or I'm in wrong station then I get error that says what is going on.

Sort by light year distance would be cool for capital pilots, searching for capitals etc. And Light year range on autopilot. Would save messing around with the map in some cases.

Would it be possible to accept a contract from any region from any region?

I want to chime in on this because I've always thought it was fairly pointless to be able to see contracts from anywhere in the game but not actually being able to accept them unless you're in the same region of space. It really does not make any sense.

More complicated idea, opened a separate thread:

here

Outlines:

Players can choose to have goods from buy orders or maybe just large hangar stockpiles delivered via auto-generated contracts.
Number of courier contracts would vastly improve due to the ease of creating them.

This would improve gameplay for all haulers/transport services.
In a second step, hauling as a profession could get a fancy route planning tool.

Atm contracts take 4 windows to create. Shouldn't need more then 1

doing private contracts I type in the name and it always gives me a list of 10 people with the one I want around 6th. The list should start with the closest match not alphabetically. Even better choice of partial or exact match only.

I'd like the option to select multiple identical items that I could create individual contracts for with identical options. Like fit ships for alliance

Be nice to have at least 1 default filled in form if not more be able to save so people who do the same contract over and over again can do so much quicker. Like someone who puts up a new buy contract for something when the old one gets filled or expires.

How about more then 2 weeks with item exchanges?

Changing the sort order for contracts changes only the 100 listed. So when I want them ordered by price I still need to go through more then 1 page.

People can place buy orders for blue prints that don't exist (like faction ships) but can't place orders for copies (Yes I know ME and PE are variables) but how many Dramiel bpc's are there that have better then ME0 PE0?

You can do courier contracts but how come you can't do loan contracts? I'd like to do corp ship contracts where the corpies when there done with the ships can return them to the corp by completing the contract. same as a courier they don't return it by a set time corp keep the collateral. It would be no different then a courier so no reason you can't do it.

Don't cancel insurance because a ship gets stuck in an item exchange contract. Doesn't happen when you do a courier so its not something you can't do.

How about hiding contracts at stations people can't dock at? Like in 0.0 or factional warfare.

Could do something about more options for expiration times.

sometimes I create a contract then realize I don't have enough isk. Even if I transfer enough I still have to cancel the contract and start again.

I'd like to have an option to block all contracts from your black list.
When someone block a scammer in Jita, I'm pretty sure he will also want to block all contracts from the scammer.

Can we link the "ask for item" function to the entire item database? Right now there are certain somewhat obscure items where you can contract for sale, but not want to buy. This means you can't set up a trade exchanging rare item A for rare item B since you can't actually ask for item B in the contract system.

Allow us to contract more an 200 items in one contract. With laser ammo unable to be stacked after use, there are a lot of extra items involved in courier contracts.

I cannot remember having read that yet, correct my if I am wrong...

Give us the option to add an additional note to failed contracts so that other people who check contract histories can comprehend why a contract failed. This is particularly interesting for courier contracts and would make scams and traps harder. Smile

Currently you have to laboriously check killboards for losses on that particular day. With a comment added to a contract, which can contain a simple remark "ganked" or a link to a killmail, this could be made a lot easier and more intuitive.

When making a item exchange that should be a courier and you click back to change it, the selection of goods goes poof and you can start over.

When completing courier contracts it uses 1 request for each contract, which means at even modest stacks of contracts you get the stupid "please wait 2 seconds before you try again", once they are completed and you want to view the contract list again, you get the same message.

Surely the servers can handle burst of more than a handful of contract requests per minute.

4. Allow issuing contracts to yourself. This mostly comes from the need to haul my own assembled ships in a freighter. The functionality is already there because other people‘s assembled ships can be entered into courier contracts and be moved by a freighters.

I'd like to expand on this idea. I'm currently going through my jump clones and collecting various pieces of mission loot scattered around the place, and shipping them closer to "home" for refining purposes. Although they'll all eventually go to my refining alt, I want my main clone to pick them up and deliver them to wherever, but I noticed a few issues:

  1. As above, I want to contract to myself in discrete packages, perhaps one for refining, perhaps another for selling.

  2. But, containers tend to be rather unwieldy, whereas shrink-wrap is always the perfect size.

  3. As per the quoted post, I'd also like to use my freighter to carry fitted ships, without resorting to my Orca (which is too small for battleships), but I'd rather a better solution be developed for carrying fitted ships than wrapping them up in shrink-wrap (that is also highsec friendly, such as a T2 Orca, or a special shipping container for freighters)

  4. Maybe I clicked the wrong button, but I wanted to make a courier contract to my alt, but then transport it myself, from the location I created it in, and deliver it to where the alt was. It either "disappeared" (i.e. went straight to the alt in the current location), or it said I couldn't accept it since it was my contract (depending on the contract option I chose). All I wanted to do was deliver a contract I had created, that was destined for an alt (that doesn't want to undock), mark it as delivered, then log on with the alt and accept it. Maybe I confused myself, but it didn't seem to want to let me do that.

I'd like you to be able to give a contract a private name and for that name to show up in your (corp) wallet log as a remark for all entries about that contract.

The same for market orders and indy/research jobs as well please. It would be nice for me to be able to see all income/outlay for an entire industrial project (a bunch of jobs, orders, etc) quickly and without too much guesswork.

Some semi-random thoughts, some which have already been partly mentioned:
- Get rid of the 'Multiple items' (in varying languages) in contracts... nobody wants to know that. either allow us to name our contract or use the contract description instead of 'Multiple items' (good for bulk sales, fitted ships etc.).
- Simplify contracts to make them less of a click-fest (fewer screens/clicks) to create and use.
- Make contracts more easily understood, e.g. if a contract contains 100 items, some fitted ships, it is not very clear which fitted modules / rigs belong to which ship (maybe visualize fitted items as a 'subnode' of the ships).
- Show BPO/BPC parameters during contract creation (same as when viewing a created contract) so that we know which BPCs are in contract (ME/PE/runs)
- Reconsider contract expiration (14 days), as contracts are used as buy/sell orders for stuff not on the market (90 days). Moreover, market orders are regenerated when modified whereas contracts cannot be modified at all to reflect pricing changes thus losing the deposit (i.e. cannot update prices when undercut while expiring soon).
- For those of us who often look for different things, it would be nice to have a Saved-search feature in Available contracts that would allow us to look for multiple interesting things quickly (maybe even have multiselect in exact type match)

Be able to create an exchange contract from a Buy order- the prospective seller pays the contract costs, the buyer's offer is subtracted in full from their wallet and put into escrow as part of the contract at the moment the contract is made.

When linking Contracts, enforce the original name.
Do not allow editing of Contract names, but use only "item name" or "Multiple items"
Clearly mark each contract as a
WTS (item for isk)
WTB (isk for item)
WTT (isk and/or items for is and/or items)

Example

Link to contracts
[WTT] (Multiple Items) <-- (Someone offering Isk and Plex for Plex or what ever combination)
[WTB] (30 Day Pilot's License Extension (PLEX)) <-- someone is offering ISK to for PLEX.
[WTS] (30 Day Pilot's License Extension (PLEX)) <-- Someone is offering PLEX for ISK.

Making it clear in the actual contract window what type of contract you are viewing is also a positive thing.
What to sell, What to buy or What to trade for example.

Contracts are atleast not as flawed today as they used to be serveral years ago

If one is bidding on an auction one should be able to see the identity of the highest bidder. This is the format of all popular & legitimate real world electronic auction sites and helps one recognize if the seller may be using a known alt in order to falsely raise the price on an item.

This would assist in:

a: Saving the buyer from wasting time on auction cheaters.
b: Help CCP out financially as the auctioneers may be forced to invest in more characters/accounts in order to falsely bid up prices without being discovered.

And if you think EVE doesn't have a real economy, I question what you're been doing in your time. Not looking at the market, that's for sure.

How can a player loan them selves money? Just where do you think the ISK will come from, NPCs? That is not what was being suggested.

As for collateral, let it be whatever players want it to be, from ISK to BPOs/BPCs, minerals, whatever. Let the maturity value also be anything players want. Also add a coupon, and let that be of any sort of item players want.

The important parts are collatoral escrow and let the contracts be of rather long duration, up to a year if players want.
