After the patch the flicker/freeze issue seems to be resolved however once I get to the game it locks up after about 10 seconds. From my system log:

2/18/14 9:15:31.000 AM kernel[0]: NVDA(OpenGL): Channel exception! exception type = 0x6 = Fifo: Parse Error
2/18/14 9:15:31.000 AM kernel[0]: IOVendorGLContext::ReportGPURestart

No response to these issues?

Fix your game or give me a refund. At this point, I am tired of wasting my time on this and have no real desire to play your game anymore. It's been 23 days since my issue started on all 3 of my accounts, no fix, no refund, no response to my support ticket in over a week.

While the problem for me logging in is fixed, I still constantly have issues docking and undocking from stations. I must use the star map when I do so or else the client flickers and freezes.

I believe we've finally tracked down this issue and I hope to have a patch out on Monday.

Hey I found that by going into the display options and using the preset for memory allows me to play with out freezing. could be a temporary fix until the patch is out.

I get an odd issue re freezing. I run multiple clients, they will all be fine for a good few hours and then just one of them will randomly freeze. So far it has always happened when in the station and in the background, i.e. another client or window is main focus. Although I haven't seen the issue in space I am getting conerned that i am going to lose my capitals if it happens and i'm cyno jumping. It doesn't feel 100% safe with this happening and it happens totally randomly.

It also happens with just a single install, i.e. no clones and it doesn't seem to happen on the same account either, it's random against all 4 of my logged in accounts.

I've been having a combination of hard interface freezes (generally when the EVE client isn't in the foreground) and soft disconnects--where everything seems to be normal, but in fact the client is stuck showing me last known good information. In both cases, force quitting is the only way out.

The problem is substantially lessened by optimizing for memory, but I have 24GB RAM. Memory should not be an issue.

27" 2012 iMac, 24GB RAM, running the latest OS X, all patches applied.

The game is still freezing at random times and forcing me to force quit. Been going on since Feb 4th. What a trashy Macintosh support group this game has. They don't even care that it's not working, they just blame it on the fact that they cannot reproduce the problem. If this many people are having problems and you can't reproduce the issue, maybe you should be fired. You aren't doing your job properly; it sounds like you are in over your head.

I will never give any money to CCP ever again and if I ever have anyone ask me about EVE, I will strongly push them away from the game. I imagine others who are having constant issues will as well.

Great job.

Relax, everyone, the issue is only 3.5 years old now, I'm sure they're putting lots of effort into fixing it.

Lol, that wouldn't surprise me.

They even quit updating this thread. No update on where they are with fixing this for awhile now.

Pathetic.

I found an older fix for this that I just used and it cleared up my problem for now.

What I did was View Contents of the Eve application, that sent me into the usual slew of files and whatnots.

I went to this spot, the cache file embedded in the Resources folder and deleted it.

Applications/EVE Online.app/Contents/Resources/cache

Yep, just deleted it. Then I restarted the launcher and it proceeded to download portions of Eve over again, this took about four minutes. After that it let me log in and play. While this may not be a permanent fix, I hope it helps others and CCP figure out what's been happening here.

You don't have to poll OS X for events. You just register for the ones you want, and pass in a handler for the OS to call when you get one. Something in Cider is using the older, spammier model of explicitly polling (in layman's terms: "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"). 10.9 tries for reduced power consumption, and the last WWDC had Apple employees exhorting developers to stop polling the OS, please please please. It looks like they're giving that exhortation some teeth.

tl;dr: Cider is making your Mac do a great deal of extra work for no gain, and the Mac is complaining.

All the cider dumps for eve have that same major version number, even if the client is fully patched to the live system.

I guess this means based on the above explanation CCP needs to hammer Transgaming to update their product.

thought I was the only one with this freezing issue. apparently I am not alone.

when running a single client, it will freeze after a while. when running 2 clients, 1 will freeze, other will go on. then the other client will freeze too. been forced to play in windowed mode, since in full screen I cant even force quit the application.

Devs. seriously. wake up and fix it.
