Everything was working fine without problems, until Crucible came out. I suspected that we mac users would get at least some kind of bugs with this new release (because with every release EVE becomes less playable on a Mac), but now EVE simply doesn't start. This started happening after the patch failed to update my latest Incarna build, and I had to re-download the client and re-install it completely. All I'm getting is the following message:

Screenshot

I tried to re-download the full client 3 times and tried re-installing completely 5 times (including completely wiping out the EVE Online folder in Application Data prior to install), and even installing in Safe Mode.

My specs:

15" MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5
6GB DDR3 1067 MHz Ram
500GB HDD
nVidia GeForce GT 330M (256MB)
OS X 10.6.8

Please help me get my EVE working again :(

Please open /Users/Account Name/Library/Application\ Support/Eve Online/p_drive/

Attach "Win32 CrashReport" and "Win32_minidump.dmp" to a bug report and call it "For Konflikt : Mac Crash" or similar and I will endavour get this fixed as fast as i can :)

Same here :-(

Before the crucible update it was working. Although 'sometimes' i had to try twice. Now with the crucible update the eve client is stuck and will not startup. Need to do a force quit.

I will collect the data.

iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB
OSX Lion 10.7.2

Is there a way to unpatch or load a previous version? So I can continue to play.

Let's try a new approach.

Please get this file:
http://content.eveonline.com//321452/evepremiumpatch321452-mac.tgz

Extract it and run the application inside it against your Eve online install.

Before you start the client again, go here /Users/Account Name/Library/Application\ Support/ and rename EVE Online to "EVE Online BACKUP" - This will move all your settings and cache into a place they wont be used you can put it back By renaming it back to "EVE Online" if this doesn't work.

As a very last point, if this doesnt work try starting the client with cider logging and attach these logs to a bug report tagged "For Konflikt" and I'll see what i can make of them :)

Heyo CCP Konflikt, and thanks for replying to my thread.

I fixed the issue myself. It appears that the HDD on that laptop needed to be replaced. The issue arose because (to my belief) the executable could not read/write fast enough to the damaged disk. I completely replaced the HDD and was able to install and run EVE successfully without any errors (running in from the same MBPro now with 2 windows and loving it). I apologize for unnecessary bashing and hope you have a wonderful day.

I assume this requires that we have been able to download the Crucible patch and install it?

I can't afford to download 1.6GB again and again - only to see it wasted. I can only get to 99% of the download. Very soon I will be forced to wait until next month when I reach my Download cap.

Please can someone provide a patch to update from the latest version of Incarna to Crucible for a Mac which actually downloads?

Edit - it has taken three attempts so far just to post this message Cry

When you get your Forum working properly, then perhaps we can try fixing the actual game.

Is there a way to freeze our subscriptions so the money is not wasted while CCP get their act together?
