An idea to make playing EVE more enjoyable...

Welcome.

I'm a little user of EVE online, but got an idea, that may improve the game experience.

So, every user has the inner thoughts, and the desire to make his/her own ship a bit more personal. So, i've realized that the voice of the ships' computer is too cold, and uninterested. Two ideas appeared in my brain:

One: Maybe a player should change the voice with an implant, or if he/she changes ship type, or race (Gallente, Amarr, Caldari, Minmatar), that would make the game a bit more enjoyable.

Two: (Not sure if it is so great) As you achieve bigger ships, you only get the bigger hull, but still only you are in the ship. I mean, a big battleship only for one person? That is so lonely. But what if a crew control it? Not players, and they do not have to be seen ever, only their voices should appear, so for example if a turret or a launcher runs out of charges, a man should say the information about that, if we start a warp, that sounds great from a woman, and so on.

what do you think?

I think in the age of cloning technology and near instantaneous communication and travel across star clusters, the fact that someone would have to get on the radio to call the captain to tell him a gun is out of ammo, instead of him just glancing at a nice little number on his arm-chair screen sounds moronic. now take into account the fact that your brain is supposedly plugged into the ship aware of all its inner functions as if it was yoru own body, and the fact that someone has to tell you that your out of ammo sounds absolutely English.

Waiting for people to start screaming "GET ME THE GUY WHO DID THE SUIT VOICE FROM CRYSIS IN HERE RIGHT NOW!" After all, we also have cloaking devices.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Damn I was thinking just the same thing Lol

energy critical
(read both with the Crysis suite voiceover)
cloak engaged

Or the sexy voices like Kristen Bell or Mila Kunis.

But I think that is a bad idea because it will lead to a lot of hilarious killmails, coz distracted by voiceover..

So not... okay. But the part of the post, the sound change, i think it is not so bad... the big chats are also full of spams... buy isk for cheap price, lottery, etc. etc. I just thought that "hey, this voice is boring a bit, can is change it? " but unfortunately not. Maybe a Scottish or an Indian voice could happen, i only thought for some other voices.

BTW are there any efforts to make other dubs than english? I mean that my voice suck in mics, but can i make a mod, or other to the game to speak Polish, Hungarian, etc?

Most ships have more then one person in it, by the way. Even most frigates have a crew of 1-3 people or something. Battlecruisers and battleships have hundreds, capital ships thousands of crewmembers.

Now I personally think it's a good idea we don't have to micromanage our crews. On the other hand, if CCP ever includes some form of automated simulation of crews instead of just saying "they are there", I would be OK with it. Would be hilarious if you get messages of what your crew is doing then and when. Especially in a fight.

I would rather like voice-overs - such as the scottish gunner/engineer, the upper class english navigator, and I REALLY REALLY REALLY want john rourke as my docking voice:

"NOT in the engine! Stupid piece of minmatar junk."

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.
