Gantrys left in hi sec

I recently started 2 PI colonies in a particular system in hi sec.

A few days later the customs offices were destroyed and I found no customs offices replaced them. I went to launch my own poco and it stated one exists. I looked and checked in every way...and it turns out that the poco's were replaced with gantry's floating around nearby to each of the planets I was using.

What are my options? Can I shoot down a gantry once located?

Some of your options are:

1) talk to the owning group and ask them to get it up and running
2) To destroy it, you'll need to wardec the owning corp.
3) Change to a different planet

In general if I'm going to set up my PI somewhere I'll check for system in which all pocos are under the ownership of same corp, better if they have more pocos in nearby systems.

So... wait, the gantries were there but hadn't been upgraded??

yea...gantries are out ...and not been upgraded.

There were two corps involved in taking out the previously existing customs offices. I don't know whether they launched the gantries there..........it appears they might be continuing this method of pi customs office control in the system next to it. It's something i will need to look at(but thinking it's not worth my time) And, it looks like i might be the sole player that has set up pi in theses 2 systems and i am not sure if this is targeted grief play....but i will know what extent they are into this project when the status of the other customs offices I would need to use(and began using), becomes clear. I grappled with the idea of an indirect war on the corps that appear to be involved...for the hell of it....but with some research there is an indirect connection with the alliance involved, with some former connections of mine (with alts). But this seemed somewhat removed and don't feel like navigating the politics at this time.

It's just easier for me to set up pi elsewhere......it's unclear whether they are farming tears(i have none) or have an agenda with pi in those systems.

I was unaware of this use of gantries. Some of the questions my experience opened up....raised more questions. Some of which are interesting.
