Scince the CSM was re-established back in 2008* (ish?) the game has taken a decided turn for the worse.

Besides forcing CCP to quit development of a part of the game many of us were looking forward to (WiS) and guiding development away from the natural innovation of its creators. The CSM appears to continually propel the development of the game onwards towards the whim of a bunch of people who have nothing but the destruction of the game in mind (Goonswarm +co). All we really see now is continual reitteration of parts of the game that few feel to be *broken*. The last real development of the game was the introduction of wormholes over half a decade ago!

When will we see this horrible group of people dispanded and have the power of development returned to the people who know best how to develop a computer game (the devs)?

Thread closed because it was derailed by trolls.

My point about not trusting players to have any part in developing a game is proven. - All they will do is destroy it.

Oh, and we need a "Conspiracy Theories" subforum to redirect these nutjobs into. We could make Dinsdale a mod of that forum.

Everything you say is wrong.

There may be reasons to disband the CSM but those you chose are not them.

Translation: It's the CSMs fault that walking around on legs in a space ship game isn't popular and didn't go anywhere. Also Grr Goons.

The CSM isn't pulling any strings, they are representing the players wishes to CCP. It is the players who asked for CCP to focus on spaceships. It is the players who asked CCP to fix the game rather than introduce more half baked Jesus features. It is the players who ask for the actual player driven part of the game (the part you call 'destruction') to be the focus of the game instead of thempark style 'content'.

What you don't like is the EVE Online community as a whole, not the CSM. Therefore, Disband the community.

What developers know is how to build a program (as in developing)

What they don't know is how to make an enjoyable game.

People who play the game will. Which is why your post is usefull. If we were to follow your guidelines, you have no business posting whatsoever. You are not a dev.

This..

As much as I would love to see the CSM disbanded, ignorant hysteria isn't going to get us there, that's what got us here.

WiS thread AND a grr goons thread in one...

Hot damn, I swear they're getting better at making these sorts of posts. Now doubling them up too... *mind blown*

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

In light of recent events, I support the CSM.

The function as a player/community based watchdog on the activities of CCP as well as an informed basis for feedback on design, is invaluable and a credit to CCP and the community at large.

Corruption, in terms of some CSM potentially representing some interests dishonestly (note: its OK (oh kay) to represent your own interests and those of your constitutents) vs the potential benefit, is in favor of the latter, upon the benefit of the doubt for the former.

But I have to restate this, because it is such a fine line.

It is OK for a CSM to completely and without shame, represent his own interests and those of the constituency who elected him.
There is nothing wrong with that. But it does carry one caveat, it does not give anyone the priviledge to lie or to dishonestly hedge an interest against another party.

Do you get what I mean?
It is one thing to stand up for what you believe in, it is quite another to dishonestly attack or discredit that of another CSM, or another section of the community.

The goal must always be a unilateral and universal one: That of a better game.
Everyone must understand and accept that goes before and ahead of any personal interest.

Salvos I never thought I'd see the day you'd agree that Ripard's attack on E1 and scamming in general was way out of line.

Good to see.

False.

Ripard, as an independant person, brought attention to Erotica1's transgressions.
The community, the CSM and CCP responded.

Erotica1's activities where not good for the game.
The CSM agreed. The Community agreed. CCP agreed.

If you disagree with that, go ahead. That is your prerogative.

Perharps not disband, but to strip away all impact and influence to game development and make them nothing but a communicative arm bethween the userbase and CCP, yes.

All posts and mails screencapped and time stamped, including out of EVE, you will not reverse on me.

Might come in handy!
