Deployable Billboards

With the launch of the new deployable structures in the last expansion. I think one was missed. Throughout New Eden there are Billboards posted at the gates. Eye candy for some just may be the answer to a misused game mechanic. So many times Cans are used to send a message to any passer by. In fact this weekend FLY SAFE was written with Mobile Tractor units outside Jita 4. Now just imagine that a Corp or Alliance was able to post a message, Kill board or recruit any place that they own sovereignty Low/Null sec or rent a office High/Low sec.

This is the wrong forum for suggestions, but I don't think it's a bad idea. Deployable objects are frequently used for posting messages and advertising, so it would make sense to have a deployable designed for that purpose.

I've always thought this would be a great idea over the messages on anchored containers.

Billboards are actually a feature that's ripe for a complete nerf. Getting rid of them altogether is a better idea.

Billboards should actually be part of the hangar environment, and otherwise the big screen in your CQ has all the mindless drek, and more, of a billboard anyway.

Im not really sure about the CQ. I personally dont go there its just wasted time not to mention the door has yet to be unlocked. The idea is putting advertisement where its to be seen and in the case of the Fly Safe in Jita this weekend annoingly seen. A killboard boosting the latest tears may look better than Quafe.

Also, a waste to put them on CQ screens. because who wastes time in the CQ?

Those screaming cans drives me nuts. I remove them from overview.

Ofcourse I then hit a gatecamp with a guy that has 1 anchorable can among all his jetcans. That single one decloaking me...

Since CCP allows can anchoring, billboards should be fine. Just... keep em in h-sec ok?

Maybe have them be at the scale of a poco and require fuel and a permit to anchor and then have others be able to rent ad time on them.

Dont know, really tiresome to have space litter everywhere, this would at least minimize that.

My counter idea was more on the level of "if we have to have billboards this is probably better."

I agree completely that people will always rather use the easy, free way to advertise. Unless you made that harder somehow, again not saying you should. Just saying.
