CONCORD Station

Maybe more of an RP or a Lore question. I've been re-watching all those old videos, trailers, teasers, fanfest vids etc, and a question appeared:

CONCORD station in Yulai from this video was unique. It was destroyed according to another video - Empyrean Age Trailer. And now even in game 3d models assets only 'damaged' CONCORD station does exist, a badly damaged one, destroyed actually.

I didnt yet play at the time. And I'm curious to know why was it unique, why is it no more, or was it there at all, and why all the rest CONCORD and DED stations are from different factions, not their own.

CONCORD Frigate and Cruiser designs are such a cool fusion of all 4 faction features, Amarr armor plates, Gallente asymmetry, Caldari straight lines and angles, and Minmatar fins and wings (and ducttape around pipes). Just wanted to note, find it so awesome.

ShockedIdea That may be the answer to the question I asked, still would like to hear some. And if ships represent a fusion, dont stations deserve the same, make distinct faction station appearence with all 4 racial features included!

PS: You can find links to Damaged CONCORD Station and CONCORD Ships in Brunhilde Tahl's Bio ingame.

The CONCORD station in Yulai was tetrahedral in form, long booms radiating from the centre. Yes it existed, yes it was the only one of its kind.
The lore reason for the design is that each empire occupied one arm, it was therefore a very visible demonstration of their cooperation. As a symbol it only needed to be done once (which is why DED...etc. stations could be done using (cheaper) existing designs).

Yulai station still exists, it is just badly damaged after the Minmatar attack on it, and hasn't been fully repaired.

The statin where the super crashed into is also still on fire, I'd figure their fire extinguishers would have put that out by now.

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

I've heard a vague rumour that it may have the fires put out in 1.1. That could be wrong.

Took the time, went to Yulai, made some pics, me and naglfar parts, me and concord battleship carcasses, me and the damaged station. Discovered its still fully armed and operational battlestation. Shocked Well not fully.

Did it have a pasty white cloaked figure who was pivotal to the whole operation perched precariously in a tower spire high above the defenses that no one seemed to shoot at and instead took small ships and a lightly armed freighter into the superstructure of the station in an effort to shoot a couple lasers at a reactor tower and then have to race out ahead of the explosion? ::breathe:: Was it also protected by a shield generator that was placed on a nearby forest moon and that even though it was protected by legions of troops and for some reason wasn't protected by a shield of its own was able to be taken out by a handful of lightly armed rebels and aboriginal teddy bears with bow and arrows and spear technology? ::breathe::

If not, I don't see how it could have been destroyed. We all know that stations are only destroyed by small craft after a series of gratuitous space combat scenes and unnecessary extra steps that cost tertiary characters their lives but no one cares and they celebrate anyways.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

You just made George Lucas cry but, I guess that's fair since he makes us cry every time he re-edits one of the films.

So I went sightseeing. The first site I payed a visit was damaged Ishukone station in Malkalen (2 jumps form Jita) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSHdIsIOrsc

Then went to one of the shattered planets, Seyllin I (Essence), a screenshot

In the same Seyllin system there is a celestial beacon Roden center - screenshot 1, screenshot 2

On the way back to Jita next to Seyllin is Aporulie system, it too has a celestial beacon, Roden Shipyards Manufacturing Center. A nice place too.

About Empyrean Age Book. So you write a book and have some of events from it occur in the game, right? What about a novel, still works? A short story maybe? Roll Could try that Big smile

They should probably try and fix the station, you would think that the repairing core station in your rapid repose might be a high on the to do list. P

Apparantly, on the testserver, the fires of Malkalen station are out, but you can still see scorched marks form damage on it.

So Ishukone Station does get its fire put out, even repaired partially. Ishukone Station Progression <- Screenshots of the 3 States of the Station - before impact, ablaze and repped.

Searched for some Yulai Concord Bureau pictures abit. 2001 Concept Pic, 2005 Screenshot, Artistic Vision, Empyrean Age Teaser 2. How sad so few images left of such an important place, low quality too.

Will it too be fixed at some point in future, or will it stay the same as a reminder? Or did CONCORD learn the lesson (space stations not so invulnerable) and now its HQ based on a planet (those seem harder to destroy)? Rubicon Cinematic Trailer 0:27 - 0:33. Mastakomon System, Orpana Constellation, The Forge - new CONCORD headquarters?

BTW, structure in the background of the Ghost site in Rubicon video, Ammatar Holy Dome, very cool. Thousandth time, too bad you cant spin all the cool things in preview Sad

Union extinguishers would be my best guess as to why it took so long.
