It's a tenet that's been bandied about for however long Alcoholics Anonymous has been around. Sometimes altered to: "When you make a plan, God laughs".

okay dude, okay! English is not even my native language and I don't have a clue what tenet means. All I'm sayin' is that even tho that quote ain't that noble there's quite a lot of wisdom in it.

He's not disputing that. He's just giving you a bit of background info on it and using big words while doing so. Basically flexing his wisdom and grammar skills. Ain't no thang wrong with that methinks, eh?

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

Indeed. I just find the variations interesting.

Be courteous, kind, and forgiving
Be gentle and peaceful each day
Be warm and human and grateful
And have a good thing to say
Be thoughtful and trustful and childlike
Be witty and happy and wise
Be honest and love all your neighbors
Be obsequious, purple and clairvoyant

Be sure to stop at stop signs
And drive fifty-five miles an hour
Pick up hitchhikers foaming at the mouth
And when you get home get a master's degree in geology

Be pompous, obese, and eat cactus
Be dull and boring and omnipresent
Criticize things you don't know about
Be oblong and have your knees removed

"No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough."

The Village (M. Night Shyamalan), 2004

"To call it an anticlimax would be an insult not only to climaxes but to prefixes. It's a crummy secret, about one step up the ladder of narrative originality from It Was All a Dream. It's so witless, in fact, that when we do discover the secret, we want to rewind the film so we don't know the secret anymore.

"And then keep on rewinding, and rewinding, until we're back at the beginning, and can get up from our seats and walk backward out of the theater and go down the up escalator and watch the money spring from the cash register back into our pockets."

More light.
- Last words of Johan Wolfgang von Goethe.
(For some reason I always liked those...)

He who walks arrives.
- Little known game named Evil Genius

And quite honestly the best quote I've ever heard/read of:

Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?

'No,' says the man in Washington, 'it belongs to the poor.'
'No,' says the man in the Vatican, 'it belongs to God.'
'No,' says the man in Moscow, 'it belongs to everyone.'

I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose Me!

- Bioshock

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.
