Good Day/Evening Research Pro's

I ask this,

What happens to all the jobs that have been qued up in stations sitting in pending status for ever (ex...having a Material Efficiency job sit pending 40+ days out)? will the dev's refund us the cost the job already paid to the station? or would we receive a double whammy charge rolling over into the new Tax charge?? (0-14%)

better example.. right now worst case scenario.. a station that cost 1 month's time to research a freighter bpo.. cost around 7 mil isk now at the higher tier according to the "throwing numbers out there" statement.. at 14% tax... that's 280 million isk (tax based on value of the bpo 2 billion) to research it after patch. am I correct?

if anyone dev's included could answer this.. thank you very much

Nothing.

Job submission is when fees are charged, skills checked, etc.

then wouldn't that pose a workaround of paying tax after patch day? despite "slots" going away could this be exploited up to a certain degree?

If you are willing to wait a year for your items to manufacture, go ahead.

No, I don't think it will be a problem.

I would imagine that your job will queue as normal. But its possible it might just queue as soon as the server goes live.

Or maybe the server will crash into the side of a volcano.

I doubt any there will be any further charges. But if your job doesn't start until after the changes go live and you don't want to wait, you could cancel the job and then reinstall it as soon as the changes go live. You would certainly save some time, and could consider the isk loss as a fee for bumping your job up in the "queue".

you get a short grace period to use current costs, but that's not really much of an 'exploit', you're usually allowed to exploit the old system as much as you can until its changed

I think the OP's point may be being missed.
Once the changes go live, there are an infinite number of slots. All queued jobs will start, the queue empties and goes the way of the dinosaur. This allows me to queue up many, many jobs just before the change, all at a busy station, and have them all start on patch day even though I have not spent the tax appropriate to using a busy station.

You are limited to how many jobs you can queue up by your S&I skills. At max 11 per character. This will create a temporary bubble, but nothing game breaking. Furthermore, they might insist your job keeps the same "completion date" you had prior to the release, which would destroy the benefit you seek.

If I were a betting person, I'd bet that CCP is going to execute and complete all jobs during the conversion. That's what they have done in the past. Queue up the titans before upgrade downtime!!!!

So you see the question. You used the word "might". We are looking for a statement from CCP that includes the word "will". Will they keep the same completion date, or will they not?

Thank you Vincent

im very happy you saw the point of my post, thanks to the others as well responding. I guess what im looking for is hard facts and more communication from the developers themselves since they are doing this change. the dev blog just threw up numbers and stated he'll allow the others to begin writing documents on it or speaking on it later. but as it stands I can see a way this could blow up in our faces due to all the que'd up jobs sitting out there in pending status...

also thank you Vincent I loved buying your bpo packages as well.. your corp has been very nice to me and im surely one of your loyal customers.
