I've seen this tactics used in low sec a couple of times, until now it never even got close to decloaking one of my ships.

144 drones * what is it 50.000isk is 7.200.000 investment in the hope you can catch a blockade runner of a Tengu,

Low sec is mostly millitia space, setting up 144 drones at a place where it actualy matters have discovered long before your set up is ready, and alarmed everybody except the lone wolf, not to mention you might have a millitia fleet to answer to.

It might work once in a while, though if you do it for the money, I'd try something else.

I encoutered this not long ago and decided to share this with you since its prity damn good way of catching basicly any cloacked ship, even the nullified ones.

1. Abandon lots of t1 drones in a sphere 15km araud the gate. Obviously a drone boat would be perfect for this (or few of them), it might take u 10-15min to set it up but once u do you are set for two hours. Up side of this is that no one will bother trying to shoot down all the drones, unlike with bubles which ppl like to shoot just to **** u off P
2. Sit on the gate with instalocking ship (use or imagination on this one)

If u feel like it u can garnish this with some bubles but they are not that nesesery tbh.
What happens is that once ship jumps in it cannot decloack due to having a good chance of being in proximity of one of the abandoned drones. This tactic can be used in low sec with ease because bubles are not rly nesesarry to catch t3 ships or covert industrials Pirate

Disclaimer: I DID NOT INVENT THIS. Im just being a nice guy and sharing this with you because it seems like the moust effective way to camp a gate i encountered so far (and this is coming from a guy who jumps into few gate camps a day).

Also dont go bonkers on the abandoned drones because ccp might decided that u are causaing lag if some1 pettitiones it.

It's an exploit, it's not about causing lag.

I petitioned it and gm said its not an exploit unless its causing lag so vov

Actually it's down to the GM as are most things you petition in this game unless the criteria is in black and white.

Consensus from the petitions I've seen is that placing objects to decloak is not an exploit, placing enough objects to lag clients as they jump in is. As with most things GM related, there's no set limit on how much you can abandon and it's a judgement call on the GM's part so results will vary depending on what GM you get in touch with.

Or you can fit a warp core stabilizer in the low and laugh at the insta locking ship. Usually when i travel with a cloaky, nullified tengu i have a ton of EHP and a bunch of warp core stab in the bottom meaning they'll need at least 2-3 fast locking ships (most use disrupters i'd assume)

and you'd need to be grabbing and headbutting any camp that chose to engage you at ANY sort of range. also. stabs is madness.

Dont mind me,  just touching your stuff.

Are you actually bragging about putting MULTIPLE warp stabs on a Tengu?

not bragging, just a truth. You want to get from point a to b and the one thing that can really stop you is an insta locking ship. with warp stabs, that takes away the one really big threat you have.

Pilot error is required (of the ship trying to cloak) you cant lock a ship going from being cloaked on jump in to cloaking using his cloak module unless he fks up.

I've wondered if it would be possible to 'container trap' somebody, if you could somehow position trash/ containers around them and then pull them to the ship to surround and then anchor the containers preventing them from turning to warp...?

Fail topic of the day?

The only way to catch a T3 with a dictor-blower on it is to bait & point.

/end of story

Pilot Error will always get you killed. Works every time on me, in any case...

We did this in my last corp. CRAZY numbers of drones. I didnt actually put them up so i dont know the exact numbers but it was in the hundreds. And uhh yeah they lasted until downtime. What? Not worth the effort
