Watch your shiptoasting, IZ is running rampant on various oog boards, drawing on trolling on GD as a means to demonstrate how vile the playerbase is. And actually, looking at some recent troll posts it looks like a concerted campaign.

OP is quite correct and you should all stop talking rubbish for at least a minute per day and check yourselves - feel free to have fun - just don't heavy breath on comms while you're doing it. Unless you are fit.

EP I dunno where you get your numbers from, but the nurses in my family argue that testicular cancer is the leading undiagnosed cause of death in elderly men. And you don't answer back to these people, they have uniforms, really stern faces and when they need to practice their clinical stuff ask if they can use you as practice for needle insertion. Note - undiagnosed, i.e. they have pre-existing health conditions so an autopsy is not required.

We're all going to die, but not at 20. OP might have saved someones life. You ungrateful cockmonkeys!

One of the most common heard problems with EVE is the way PVP is done today. No balls at all.

In all seriousness guys, check 'em, or get your chosen intimate partner(s) to do it for you. Cancer is a mofo, and this type is actually real easy to cure if caught early.

Don't let shame scare you away from reporting it to your doc. Trust me, us medical professionals, we see a lot of balls in our careers. Nothing new.

Something I have learned the hard way is that those "uniform types with stern faces" are often enough undereducated and self-righteous. But I am happy to educate people, so here we go.

Quote:
Testicular cancer incidence is strongly related to age, but it is unusual as, unlike most cancers, it is most common in younger rather than older men. In the UK between 2008 and 2010, an average of 85% of cases were diagnosed in men aged 15-49 years, and 6% were diagnosed in men aged over 60 years

Age-specific incidence rates rise sharply from around age 15, peak in the 30-34 age group, and subsequently drop sharply (Figure 1.1).1-4 Research suggests that most testicular cancers develop due to cell changes influenced by hormones at or after puberty, which would explain why this cancer is more common in younger men

This information is literally everywhere, and as an alternative health care practitioner I have to watch healthcare providers very closely. Healthcare is allot like computers, by the time you graduate school and begin making money the game has changed. Many of your doctors are practicing outdated medicine.

For example, did you know that most people with (or who will develop) irregular heartbeats later in life have undiagnosed sleep apnea which is a major contributing factor to it's development? You more than likely did not, and what is scary is neither your doctors or the nurses that take care of you know that either. I can name many more, but I will spare you and just leave it at that.

BTW, Testiculare cancer only accounts for about 0.7 of all cancers even though it is the most common cancer in males 18-35.

So I just phoned my mother and informed her she's an illiterate numpty, just an overpaid glorified bedmaker and bumwiper. For a start she called me a cheeky midget then unwrapped my easter egg and started breaking bits off OVER THE PHONE and making mmhmhm noises. I blame you for that! Second, we're going to reflexology/reiki again this week (fml) - and this time I'm not allowed to giggle. Don't make assumptions, not all healthcare staff exclude alternative therapies. Third I'm now cooking Sunday lunch for 8 (hope they like marmite toast). Now I have to stop talking to nerds on the internet and do some revision - to which I replied "Bollocks" obviously. And then she just ranted for a bit about stats and undiagnosed causes of death (which kind of ties into what you said re apnea - so I think you are right too). Actually think she's still ranting but I put the phone on the table in the other room.

Too true on doctors not maintaining continuing education. I just had to help a patient change up some medication he was on because of that. Prescribing tramadol to a epilepsy sufferer is just..not a good idea. Most of us are pretty good at keeping up on what's going on though. It's the 65 year old private practice GP who still uses paper records you got to worry about!

Knew about the sleep apnea thing, too. It's not a BIG deal (even the researchers said it was more scientific interest than actual medical application), but it's another tool in the toolbox. Being overweight and unhealthy has a much larger effect on both sleep apnea, and heart issues.

So, EVE players...eat right, get plenty of exercise, and check your balls for lumps. EVE-O medicine at it's finest!

You know nobody gives a rat's äss about any kind of cancer other than breast cancer these days. The rest of cancer patients can all collectively go die together, for all anyone cares. How common a type of cancer is is of no concequence as well, as we can clearly see by all the "breast cancer awareness" bullshít we're surrounded by, yet nobody talks about skin cancer or lung cancer anymore. Why don't we raise awareness of something we're not already aware of?

Like testicular cancer, for instance.

I will not speak directly for EP, but an MD is not the be all end all. It is called practicing the art of medicine for a reason. The practice is based in science but it is by no means exact.

Just because I do not have a MD does not mean that I do not have acces to their journals, nor does it imply that I do not have the capability to understand what is contained within said journals.

I am a health and wellness educator that is dedicated to being a very well rounded source of medical information for my clients. I am very capable of answering very serious questions, even if it may require a bit of intense research, of which I have the time for and MD's often times do not.

That being said, all advice I give, I recommend that it is brought up to the GP to get their opinion and if for some reason the GP does not entertain them, I remind them that they do have the right to second+ opinions.

Alternative medicine is a very broad arena that includes mostly crap but a very significant amount of very good stuff. The problem with Big Medicine is that they make too much money to focus on anything other than making money. If you want a doctor who cares about your actual feelings, they're easy to come by. But if you want a medical scientist who cares about your actual feelings, you're pretty much going to have to rely on alternative medicine for that because it's the only place they can be found.
