Bounty removal??

a guy I know has a high bounty is there a way my friend can get his bounty removed other than getting killed, for example if he cancelled his account how many days would it take to take affect?? I know about the bounty rules as far as it is determined as to how much his ship is worth, + implants, modules,,etc..... thanks

Unless "the guy you know" is flying a blinged-out loot pinata, nobody will give a **** that he is bountied, and he wont have anything to worry about.

Seemed like maybe there was a tinge of jealousy in your post since you didn't have a bounty, so I gave you one too. It is not very large, but hopefully your friend won't feel so out of place now.

If a person is flying a ship worth enough to pay out a worthwhile amount of bounty when it's blown up, the ship is probably worth enough to suicide gank even without the bounty. I wouldn't worry about it.

To actually answer the OP, "Bounty pools are eliminated and a portion returned to those that contributed to the pool if the target has been inactive (unsubscribed) for a long time."


The line is about halfway down the Dev Blog. I had thought I'd read somewhere that the unsub time was 6 months but I did not find that direct working anywhere in my very brief googling.

Fit out something expensive and take it into lowsec. Your bounty will quickly be diminished!

Join up in FW. Make the guy who placed the bounty regret it by spamming his inbox with lots of bounty payout notifications. Notifications that never stop. Not after a lot of time has elapsed. Not after the total bounty on the character hits 0. Never.

and there a rumor gooing around about a bounty reset when they gona try and fix the whole bountyhunter stuff
