havent played in years, lf update on Eos lvl 4 mish build/ other drones boat build

ive heard thing changed for FC ship in 2009 or 2010, that it was harder to tank with them, want to confirm before i loose a riged ship with faction modules.

if anyone been using an Eos for lvl 4. id like some input on what you use and what mission you are not able to solo with it.
max shield/armor/hybrid/drones skills for fitting and tank.

rails/blasters depending on mission + drone link
AB + cap recharger
low fitted with active tank setup
riged with CCC's
drones : flavor for the missions

if not about the Eos, what is the flavor drones boat curently, i aint looking for speed really, mostly for fun

Eos? That counts as a drone boat? If you want cruiser sized drone boats, the Ishtar and Gila are both great. Both tank pretty well, the Gila with a great passive shield tank, and the ishtar with either active armor or passive shields. Their ability to use drones is pretty much identical, the only question is what you want to do with your 3 high slots (Gila does missiles, Ishtar Hybrids).

can the ishtar still tank stuff like vengeance and other high dps lvl 4 ? i thought they made sure it was almost undoable now

My personal experience is with the gila, but the ishtar should be very similar. The advantage is that both are decently small sig wise (even with extenders), and very fast, as well as still able to carry a 500 dps mission specific tank. 500+ m/s means most battleships have trouble hitting you, and the missiles, like those at the end of vengeance 4 don't do much either. Your dps against cruisers/frigs is great, but against battleships, a domi will pull ahead with its 5/6 large guns.

I took my Gila through a Worlds Collide 4 once. I had a semi-noob along who got room aggro on the second room with his . . . I believe it was a megathron and warped out. I managed to tank it in the gila and take them all out. The rather high tank also allows you to survive being webbed pretty well, which can completely murder you if you're flying a pure speed tank.

Easily. It seriously helps if you can avoid getting webbed, but even then it's not horrible.

Obviously, it's best against kin/therm damage, but it's also adequate against em/therm if you armor tank it (and you should armor tank it; if you want to shield tank get a Gila). Gila beats it for Angels.

Top drone ships for missions right now are probably gank NDomi and gank(ish) torp Rattlesnake. Passive Rattlesnake edges out the Dominix (or NDomi) for afk runs due to FoF missiles. Ishtar and Gila are fine, but they can't quite mount the same supplemental damage their big brothers can -- but then 538 DPS isn't all that shabby either.
