If they do then there will be several quests to collect 5-20 of them for some guy to get xp and some green gloves.

Of course it would sweetie, not least the load on the servers as there would be less folk playing the game.

Hi-sec is as valid a part of the game as whatever part of it you play in.

The one thing I have never got used to in this game is folk behaving like kids wanting others to play their way or no way.

When all you babbys who throw tantrums and threaten to quit after every change/potential highsec nerf finally leave it will be a better game. It will be less toxic and so much better EVE will have massive growth.

Start nerfing highsec now and never stop.

I'm honestly in favor of safer areas for new pilots (keep reading), however I see only one way to accomplish this and it is through less safety. Confused? The reason carebears are even being ganked is due to lack of real PVP anywhere outside of null. People are bored to death and can't find a way to enjoy the game they want to play, you know - the one Eve promises to be, the one about spaceships shooting spaceships. At the same time carebears are trying to force their own mini-game of world of whos got the shiniest spaceship onto everyone and that frustrates the dickens out of everyone who came here for exciting fights.

You are trying to go into a game which wasn't really designed for what you want it to be and you are not only polluting it with your attempts to play it your way but are often demanding for it to change as you obviously keep failing. This layered on top of the real challenges Eve faces at its core creates unnecessary noise and frustration. Hence the ganking and burning, hence the blunt forum replies directing you to WoW, etc. This isn't a game about happy mining and such, what will it take for you to get it through your thick helmet? If we get our pew-pew the way we want it - we will not bother ganking an occasional happy camper here and there and even take it easy on new less experienced pilots. If nothing else because we will simply be having too much of a good time enjoying the actual game. As long as there are those who actually make effort to further dilute Eve with their carebear mentality, actions and forum posts we will destroy them any chance we get anywhere we get the chance. It's really this simple.

Now go and give it some actual thought before you post again.

i know you may not believe it, but im not trying to be funny.

all i hear is more fights all eve is about is everyone versus everyone

well i think that the risk adverse should get what they want to. it is a sandbox after all why shouldn't eve have totally safe areas?

all i hear is we want more victims to shoot.

Forget about any hope of taking away the gankers easy targets. After all what would they have to do then? Go to blue-sec or low sec and have to fight people who are trained and skilled in pvp??

We cant have that now can we? Gankers having to do actual pvp.... nope...nope...that can never be.

To me gankers are just as sub class players as the CareBears they hunt.

I'd say this carried weight, if i didn't see a bunch of your alliance mates last night suicide ganking noobs with dessies. The guys hitting bot miners I can have a small amount of respect for, they were cleaning up eve of actual garbage, but the ones in the noob system ganking noob ships? They make a good argument for something actually rather like this, because that **** is what drives away new players.

And while you can make an argument that 'noobs should get used to it' the fact is that if people are getting ganked the moment they start playing a new game, they're likely to not renew after the end of their trial account.

That is, after all, the purpose of high sec, to ease new players into eve and to provide some place where trade can be conducted in (relative) safety. Unless you want to start opening your sov to traders (spies) from your nullsec neighbors, you should hope they don't nerf it too hard.

But then, I seem to recall that goonswarms stated goal on their inception was to destroy EvE (and not in the pew pew sense), so...

Is it really hard to type destroyer, its literally two more characters and a lot easier to read? We don't go out of our way to target newbies no matter what you want to try to claim its false. Was this alleged new player a 2 year old account in a hulk? Newbies don't fly hulks. We are doing people a favor by teaching them that the only safe place is in the station. Unfortunately that means less hilarious meltdowns but, overall its good for the game for people to accept that yes risk : reward exists.

Never not nerf highsec.

E: We also don't do anything in newbie systems so I think you are trying to spin a story.

Wait, which one is it, that you were trying to teach noobs a lesson, or that you would never do that? Both sides of your mouth were speaking at once, but saying two different things.

Next time I see it I'll post some screen caps. They were noob ships, not hulks. I ought to know, i was following them around in a cloaked prowler salvaging. BTW: the preferred barge to hit is not a hulk, but a mackinaw. At least, according to what some of your guys were saying in local. Seems hulks have fallen out of favor.

We don't do stuff in newbie systems because its expressly forbidden by CCP. We don't target newbies and you aren't a newbie if your flying anything expensive, newbies don't have the resources to fly anything we'd want to put effort into destroying.

Pretty sure I know more than some random idiot on the forums trying spin a story painting us as evil destroyers of newbies.

I, for the life of me, can not understand why others would want High Sec nerfed anymore than it already is. If it was to ever come to fruition, making highsec dwellers invulnerable to ganks, it would kill Eve Online.

I know what some of you are thinking. "It would bring in more players." No, not players, just subscriptions, so people could run their favorite miner bots and macros. In this delusional world that the risk adverse live in, its is filled with nothing but farmers and bots. You want to play your game, let everyone else play theirs.

The mechanics have worked for 10 years, just fine. If you are having an issue, being ganked, bumped, wardec'ed, then maybe the problems lies within you. Learn to play Eve like everyone else. I did not subscribe to this game years ago starting out as some griefer, nor am I one today. I started out just like some of you Indy pilots out there, and for nearly two years I did that, without any issues.

Was I ganked? Yes.
Was I griefed? Yes.
Was I wardec'ed? Yes.
Did I come on GD and cry about it? Nope.

I learned from it. I became better at what I did, or better at hiding the fact that I was terrible. Regardless, I knew/know the repercussions to my actions and adjust accordingly. I did not, nor will I expect the world to change around me because I can't adjust. Learn to Eve!

Again, that might have more weight if I hadn't worked with major alliances in the past and know that you have trouble keeping track of what everyone in your corp is doing, let alone in your alliance.

Also: goonswarm following rules? Last I checked you were positively famous for breaking them and getting away with it.

As I said, next time I see it I'll screen cap it. I generally orbit through those systems once a month as I wander about EvE.

You do know those subscriptions are what funds CCP's making new content for everyone, right?

Okay highsec person whatever you need to say to spin your story that can and has already been countered by facts or/and data.

Not the worst idea in the world, and might solve a problem or two along the way:

Replace the Drone Regions with your fancy ultradoubleplus highsec area. Here's what it looks like:

The whole area is cynojammed, so you can't cyno in. You're also prohibited from cynoing out. Also, sorry, but no wormholes (you'll still have exploration sites though, so maybe that's a bonus, as you don't have to waste time scanning down wormholes).

Access to the area is by stargate only, but a special type of stargate that scans your ship as you approach and instablaps you if you have anything in your cargo hold, coming or going. It also instablaps any ship that isn't a rookie ship. This area is completely segregated from "real" EVE in every way, of course.

Inside this area, you can mine, run missions, rat, use the (purely local) market, and industry your little head off. You can even target player ships - you are just completely precluded from activating any offensive modules at all.

Such a good idea! I'm sure everyone would have a blast running missions in T1 hulls (no available blueprints for pirate battleships or T3s) with meta modules.

Or take those T1 hulls right into incursions and roll around in the fat isk that you can use to . . . buy more T1 hulls? I'd say use it to PLEX your account, but I get the feeling that not many members of ultradoubleplus highsec are gonna need to sell PLEX for isk, given how easy it will be to generate money in a consequence-free environment.

Or, if you just wanna chill out and mine for a while, you'll be able to hoover up as many minerals as your heart desires, and then get filthy rich selling those minerals to the industrialist who will be busy churning out ships to replace all the ships that are getting destroyed by . . . mission rats?

And once inflation is completely out of control . . . once everyone has been flying the same shitfit Rokh for three years running . . . THAT'S when CCP reverts the area back to nullsec, fixes the gates, and lets the dirty horde of PvPers sweep in and cleanse the area with fire.

I am not an alt of Chribba.

So, like regular EvE?

Dunno if you've noticed the climbing prices for, everything, but that's due to inflation, not PvP or lack of supply.

THe other problem with your plan is the fact that it would flood every market in the game with all the stockpiled mins etc that would suddenly pour out when it was reset to normal and people started jump freightering out their alts super stockpile.

heheheh im the one doing the touching. im neither butthurt or moaning. as ive said in past posts i personally would NOT be interested in going to ultra-sec. my place is floating about incursions in my blackbird locking and jamming logis at the worst possible time.

all i am saying is give the risk adverse a place to play, not everyone who plays eve wants to spoil another pilots day.

anyway from what ive read most of the noise is coming from pilots who seem to think that they will be worse off? why is that? could it be because most of the kills they get are from risk adverse carebears who die because they didnt fit a proper tank or stayed aligned or used Dscan

as i said before you want to make eve easier, easy kills lots of soft targets who wont shoot back.

do you see ultra-sec as a place where all your easy kills will hide?

do you think that ultra-sec will be full to cap with players?

you shout precisely because you know that getting kills will be harder and you dont want that. you want to make it even easier to kill pilots than it is already.

Back when I was two or three months old (two years ago), I manufactured every T1 battleship with minerals I mined myself... It was a little personal goal of mine.

I've lost one BS when I was a new player in PVE. That's my only PVE loss, and that was only because I don't believe in reading mission guides.. I like surprises. ( I was laughing when I realized that I'd triggered 4 waves of battleships on attack of the drones... My drones were out and died before I realized what I'd done... 12 drone battleships don't take long to kill a Raven when it's scrammed...) Had no issues coming back in my Mael, finishing them off & retrieving what dropped from the wreck.

With no pvp losses, inflation in that little pocket would be unbelievable. 2-3 months of mining & a player would have all the minerals they'd need for ever... I don't think you'd be able to sell much of anything, honestly.

And if they reset that pocket, they'd have to 0 out all assets in it...

Edit: By every T1 battleship, I mean the Empire T1 battleships. That doesn't include any of the faction BS's.

Go ahead and do it. Make ultra-sec.
