It is well known(if you play around with war dec's) that when you go to war, you need to relog to see the red star in local, ccp says it's a overview glitch (exleast that is what i remember), it is also well known that when a corp "assist" in a war it takes 4 hours to help, but yet when a player joins the corp they can automatically start fighting, in the past two wars, we have seen people join in, and be unseen until they land on the battlefield, should their be a timer for someone to start fighting? i mean hell, if ccp can't fix the problem with local chat why should they beable to just join corp and warp in, same thing goes with leaving a corp.....enemy providence lands on station as a red star, docks up , undocks as a red star warps to gate and is now, not killable cause he left corp.........

anyone else think their should be some changes? like
- when you join a corp, you can't fight till you relog, or a four hour timer like a corp assitng in a war...
- when you leave corp, you are still attackable for a time limit? a day?

or ccp can some how fix the "join a corp" red star shows up the second you do

I agree. Never really noticed, but I can say the battle would have gone differently had the signs been there.

Because logging in and out is so hard.

Things are only impossible until they are not.

A glitch is a glitch, I can live with that. What I would like though is joining corp timer. Just makes sense. A single man corp can dec you. a month later should they choose it can instantly go to a 100 man corp. Even if it's like an hour I'd be happy.

As for leaving corp cooldown, I don't agree with that. Once you've left you've left.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

Helpful and informative, ten internet points to you.

This seems like an unintended result regarding the standings overlay. And i would petition every single Pilot/Corporation using it en masse. maybe then it will appear on CCP's radar and provoke a response by either fixing it or stating whether or not this is allowed and intended gameplay.

I hope this gets fixed, but I'm not sure its really exploitable enough to be worth classifying as bug abuse.

Yep. If standings don't update immediately, they need to respond by adding a timer for when new corp members can engage.

Or they could make standings update properly. By adding in a simple function that auto-refreshes standing in the exact same way it would when you log in/out.

Several things in the client are cached to increase client responsiveness and reduce server load.

However, sometimes the downside is stale cache data.

exploit, or faulty game mechanics? uh...what's the difference...except for who gets blamed?

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

a simple solution to this is for the game to require a player to be docked in order to join a corp, join, not just apply.

I have removed a rule breaking post.

The Rules:
5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

I have also moved this thread to Features & Ideas discussion.

ah, ezwal you didn't!
poor old F&I
oh well, at least this one has a proposed idea - I believe that the overview glitch should be sorted so that people can join corps in station, any station, and that their appearance on the overview should be modified as a result, this is just as bad as people leaving a corp at war in space!
my 0.02 isk

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

When a player joins a corp that is a war target, they do not get the red star in local, till they relog, or the people who are dec/have them dec relog, so basically their invisible on local chat till they land on grind

Local and the overview not displaying the correct status of a war target is a technical problem that can be exploited.

It would be ideal if the status of an individual were properly updated. I have been in chat channels and people would still show as members of a corp despite their employment history showing they were no longer members. It most likely is a caching issue. Easiest fix would be for CCP to code the client to push an update to those in local, chat, and contacts to see the updated employment status.

Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.
